The campsites are really nice and kept extremely clean. The bathrooms are exactly what you would expect of a mountain side campground bathroom, tidy and simple. My only complaint has nothing to do with the campground itself. The road noise is horrible. During the day it is noise from motorcycles and little cars and at night the noise is from semi-trucls and their Jake brakes. We did not have a solid night's sleep the entire time we stayed. The next time we camp there(and we will again) we will bring ear plugs to drown out some of the nightly road noise.

Beware, dry pit toilets, no electricity, no running water. We were at campsite 11, if the wind changed direction, we could smell the toilets. You can hear the road at all times also.
Perfect for hiking the waterfall trail.

The campsites are very clean and spacious, the restroom facilities are fine. The major problem with this campground is the very loud road noise coming from the highway. We went in the fall and the motorcycles and semi trucks were loud enough to be a major distraction during the day, and made it difficult to sleep at night. I would not come back for that reason.

Our experience was wonderful. The kids really enjoyed the stream next to our campsite, number 7, and we could hear the beautiful sound of it at night! From other reviews we learned that it was noisy at this site from the road being close by, and yes, we did hear cars pass, but it wasn't too bad most of the time. The hauling of water wasn't too bad either and it was right behind the restrooms, a 2 minute walk from the campsite. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

This was a great spot for a quick family camping trip! Our kids loved the campsite, and the 1/4 mile hike to the waterfall was perfect for our 4-year-old. Our only complaint is that the nearby road was busier than expected and a bit loud.

Nice clean campground. Site 23b was next to creek. Could hear the water flowing. No cell signal which was awesome!! Why go into the woods if you need electronic entertainment?
Downside was the motorcycle traffic on main road. But it was a Saturday, great curvy road for riders to enjoy. No judgment. Will go back for sure but most likely during the week.

The camping experience was almost wonderful.
The camp host was nice and polite. I did not have an issue during my stay.
The only issue I had was it rained the whole time. I don’t have a problem with the rain. It’s what came with the rain that made it miserable. I stayed in campsite 18B and when it rained; it flooded. All the water ran onto the tent pad and had I not put a tarp down before the tent, the tent floor would have been flooded as well.
Although this one site in particular was a problem, I will say staying at DeSoto itself is a great adventure. So before you book, if possible, stake out the sites when it’s raining to see the best ones to get.

Great location and friendly camp hosts. My 3rd time staying there and always a pleasure.

We camped at site 1 in a tent. I'm glad it rained at night to drown out the noise from US 129 which is quite close to the campground. The restrooms were clean, but a bit run down. The showers are outdoors. Our hosts, at the site next to us, fired up their motorcycle in the middles of the night and drove around for some reason.
It's otherwise a pretty place and has some nice trails to the falls. I'll go back for day use activities, but won't camp there again.

The campsite was nice and well maintained, but our tent pad was under a decline and completely pooled in the rain, like we were sleeping on a water bed.
