We arrived without a reservation but it was off season and sites were available. Check-in was quick and easy at the ranger's station. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Our site was clean and the bathrooms were clean as well. Bathrooms had plenty of toilet paper and hand sanitizer was available. This is a beautiful campground with a lot of wildlife. We saw horses (of course), deer, fox, and a few different birds on a walk to the bay side. The sunrises here are absolutely beautiful over the Atlantic. On a clear night the stars are amazing (bring a red light and star chart)! Overall, this campground is a fantastic place to visit, you would not be disappointed!

The whole island (NPS) was beautiful! The dunes are thriving, as are the horses. I loved it!

A great camping experience with pristine beaches, and just as many ponies as people along our hikes.
Courteous staff dealing with dry conditions and fire ban in effect -- so some confusion on allowing our enclosed propane fire ring.
Recommend gaining clarification on any equipment restrictions as you check in
Finally, have the ranger station number (410) 641-3030 in your phone contacts, just in case.

I really thought this national seashore was beautiful. Quiet and serene. Loved the gorgeous sunset. Did not like the piles for the horses around my picnic table.
Thank you for a great stay

Assateague Island National Seashore is an absolutely incredible destination! Camping there among the wild horses was a unique and thrilling experience that felt like stepping into a natural paradise. The coastal scenery is stunning, and the opportunity to share this space with such majestic creatures makes it truly unforgettable. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking adventure and tranquility in one extraordinary location!

Excellent campground. Only problem was with many loud generators that ran the whole day. There should be shorter generator hours and noise limits on generators should enforced.

First come, first serve was a fiasco. Not happy with how they handled our situation or their attitude when addressing it.
