Great place to camp. Site 2 was a pull thru site and very roomy. Heavily forested. Electric only. No cell or wifi. We stayed 3 days in a 25 ft motorhome. We'd have stayed longer if available.

The campground was pretty much standard issue. The lakeside sites are sought after for good reason but our second row site was generous, clean and private. Walk-in sites looked super.
Don't miss the walking/bicycle trail around the lake.
The campground host is tops!

Nice size campsites, and the bathrooms are nicer than the typical latrine. The lake was right there and that was nice and Munising was only 28 minutes away. It was a great home base.

Colwell Lake Campground is fantastic. It's one off our favorite campgrounds. The lake is gorgeous; providing great swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating and a lovely path to hike around the lake.
Ben and Deb are marvelous hosts. They keep the campground neat and welcoming. They are friendly and very helpful.
The attractions nearby are Pictured Rocks, Miner's Castle, Miner's Beach, waterfalls, the Log Slide, Big Springs, Fayette Historical State Park, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior.

This is a beautiful campground with roomy sites on the lake. The camp host, Ben, went out of his way to upgrade our site when a better site became available due to a cancellation. Be sure to enjoy the 2 mile hiking trail which goes around the lake.

We had a great stay at Colwell Lake Campground! We camped on the lake side an it was nice to be able to take a few steps to be able to fish or enjoy the view! The camp site was nice and clean with a good firepit and grill for cooking. There is a little space between you and the next camper, which is nice for privacy. There are plenty of bathrooms and easy access to trash. The walking path around the lake is also very nice for an early morning stroll. We will be back for sure!!
