Site 65 is now a full hook up site. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. One bar for Verizon. Good access roads. Very poor signage. Nowhere is there a sign for the campground. If I have any complaint, it would be that at the edge of the pad is about an 18” steep slope covered in pine needles. You can’t tell how solid the ground is under the needles. Stepping in the wrong spot can have you sink to your ankle. Not bueno. Extending the gravel at a less steep slope would have been much better.

Not much to see or do unless you have a boat or fishing license. The area was nice, lots of trees. Be prepared for ticks, bugs and ants.

If you have ever wanted to experience a hobo camp, this is the place.
Bring extra trash bags and gloves.
Diapers, used oil containers, bottles, cans, just imagine anything you would put in the trash and you will find it laying on the ground there.
Sad park that is neglected.
Most discussing COE park I have ever visited.

Bring extra trash bags and disposal gloves. A rake will also come in handy.
Loop 1-20 is a local hobo camp.
No sewer hook up, but no problem, run it out on the ground. They started installing sewer, but stopped and the pvc pipe juts out at odd angles. Enjoy that.
Large dumpster just outside the entrance, but more trash on the ground. Feel free to toss the trash out into the woods. Oil quart containers, clothing, shoes, diapers, cans, bottles, tires.
Bring your dogs and feel free to leave them out off leash. No need to clean up after them. Just yell bad dog and enjoy your carefree stay.
If staying in a hobo camp is on your bucket list, this place is a must see.

The bathrooms were kept warm, which I greatly appreciated. The sites were small and very close together. This did not affect me, because I was the only person in this section. My site was right next to a bright street light. There were also other bright lights around. This was very bothersome. When I go out camping, it is to be in nature, not to feel like you are on a city block. You can not enjoy the stars or the sun rise with the light hiding the views.

Though colder than we desired we found the campground beautiful and the facilities more than expected.

First no cell phone service had to go into Hernando to use the phone. 2nd. a problem on site #1 with a limb broke and possible could fall on our Airstream. We pulled out, flagged down a park ranger and told them the problem. He told us we could move to another site, and we did. Also, told us to go out online and change our site which we tried with no success. Called the number that they had posted told the lady the problem, but she could not fix it either. She said because the first night has been used, we would have to wait until the reservation run out and try to collect our money back. In the meantime I had to pay for the site we moved to #22. I called went the reservation was over told the lady the problem. She submitted a request for refund and today I got a email stating that I would get a refund. Thanks for caring.

The campground is under renovation lots of construction materials blocking many of the sites. The bathroom and shower were tidy. Camping spots very close together. The moon rise and sun rise over the lake were spectacular.
