Did not get to go. My truck broke down and could not tow my camper

Spot 48 is nice, but needs to be mowed more than it was. There was hardly any space to enjoy outside because most of the yard is grown up and only a small spot is mowed. Our 30 amp power also went out and we had to plug into 50 power. There is also no shade so be prepared for that if staying in warm months.

We stayed overnight in site 6, which is on the lake, twice (one week apart) on our way to and from a family reunion in Kentucky...this was the halfway point. Be warned that the first sites on the lake have an issue with ants. Bring plenty of Raid ant spray. We did not realize the ant problem until we saw them crawling up our power cord and all over the back of the camper. Some got inside, but they were easily eradicated with the Raid. The second time, we were prepared and sprayed the electrical cord and anything that had contact with the ground with the Raid. Not one single ant that time made it to the camper. Gnats were a little bad, but not aggravating. The view is beautiful. Site is pretty level side-to-side, so no need for us to use our levelers. We will definitely be back when we can take enough time off work to drive 6 hours towing again. Verizon signal was very weak and sometimes nonexistent, but we did not mind at all, as we were just there overnight and relaxing. Hernando has a very nice Kroger's and plenty of restaurants. I did not find the drive there to be too bad at all. Very pretty little town.

Great campground! Beautiful shaded sites! The bathrooms were clean and had air conditioning. The only negative were there were lots of black flies.

The campground volunteer and the park ranger were very helpful in resolving the issue we had with our reserved campsite. The people who were there were not around so we could not get into the campsite we reserved. The volunteer and park ranger found a campsite for us that was very acceptable while they tried to locate the people who were still in our reserved site. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained.

We were at site 5, and it was probably the prettiest campsite we've ever had. Right on the lake, nice breeze, beautiful sunset views. Unfortunately an army of ants and swarms of flies, nats and mosquitos put a real damper on things. I know, I know, we're CAMPING, I get it. But the ants infested the RV (thank God they weren't fire ants) and the flying insects got so bad in the evening there was really no way to cook or sit outside. I don't know, maybe it was the time of the year (August) or maybe that's just what to expect on a lake in Mississippi. It's a shame though, because it really is a beautiful campground.

Hernando Point didn’t disappoint. Quite and orderly the spaces for camping were well appointed and clean. Didn’t use the bathhouses but they seemed cared for. The rubbish bin needed emptying badly but aside that a great time. Also mpb tv is all 5 channels limited. Cel service is almost nonexistent. Lake view is a plus.

Driving through Mississippi on a trip. Looked on line and found this campground near my location so I reserved online. Drove to the campground and it was a great place to visit. Nice, up up to date facilities, quite, and on a lake. Will return. 5 stars.
