Great spot. Easy access to the entire East side of Glacier. Loved the free shuttle service. Had bears in the campground, including a mom and cub. Campground has low trees, lots sun. We used the awning on our trailer for shade when it was hot.

We stayed at site 150 which is right across from the bathroom/ shower house. Very convenient although a bit noisy in the evening when everyone in the campground is lining up for a shower. This site doesn't have bushes/trees to separate the site from the road so I felt like I was sleeping on the street. Site 151, right next to us, has the bush privacy and close to the bathroom.
St. Mary Campground is a convenient place to stay for the hikes in the east end of the park - about 35 minutes to Many Glacier and about an hour to Two Medicine. If you need to do major grocery shopping you will have to go to Browning.

St. Mary campground was very nice, clean and quiet, with beautiful views. We camped in a 19 foot trailer, and the pull-through campsite was very adequate for our trailer. The bathrooms were nicely spaced throughout the campground, and were very clean. The showers in loop C were also nice, but tended to be crowded in late afternoon and evening times. The only negative was that our site was on the left side of the road, so the door of our trailer faced the road instead of the campsite. Our camping reservation here did get us daily access to Going-to-the-Sun road, a benefit that was not made expressly clear beforehand on any of the park websites that we could find.

We loved this campground. as it also allowed us to hike the Highline and the loop trails.
Highly recommended.

Although the campground only has a few showers, it has them, and what a treat after miles of hiking! Be aware that it can be very windy. We saw several tents on their sides with strained poles, looking like they would snap and/or the tents would blow away.
Overall a very pleasant stay.

Somebody was occupying our tent site upon arriving at past 1 pm to check in. The campsite is clean but lack shade and it was very windy. Our tent actually got moved by the wind when we came back from a hike eventhough it was anchored to the ground. Luckily, we placed our bags inside the tent preventing it from being blown away by the wind
