Zephyr Cove was a very nice location to camp and enjoy the South Lake Tahoe area. We took a walk across the highway which had a crosswalk and stop light to safely cross over to the beach area and walking paths. We took the opportunity to drive all the way around the lake which was SO worth it. The views are spectacular! We even saw a brown bear cross the road in one of the towns. So much to do. Many walking/biking/hiking trails. Lots of shopping opportunities of course. Casinos too. Would definitely go back.

Great location! Full hookups with included heated showers and bathrooms. My only complaint is the spots are really close together and when I stayed, my neighbor parked his truck right by the fire pit. If you get a good spot, I would give this place five stars.

Campground is well-maintained, easy walk down to the lake shore, very pretty. Some of the spots can be pretty tight side-to-side as the trees are sometimes pretty close. Lots of tree cover, good in summer, but makes it a bit difficult to get a satellite signal if you need one. Having to cross the highway to go to a building on the other side to check in is a bit inconvenient. Very peaceful and quiet location but only a short drive to the stores and casinos in South Lake Tahoe if you want to go do that.

Campsites were great - everything as described. Especially liked the tall pine trees and beach access. But it was the off season so the check-in office was closed as well as the restrooms in the back.

The campground was sparsely occupied given the season. We arrived late but everything went extremely smoothly and we were very happy with our experience.

First & foremost, the staff has always done what I consider their very best for a decent guest experience. Their helpfulness has always been their greatest asset. So kudos to them!
My previous review made quite a stir with the management here. There were some problems around the campground, primarily caused by a lack of staffing. Understandable in mid-winter. None that were insurmountable.
My experience with rec.gov, not good.
Having months to make the switch and check what the guest experience & outcome might be, this part seemed completely ignored. Prices were doubled, fees imposed, the list of problems many.
Thankfully, I did receive a call from the management where we took time to address all of my concerns. We probably talked for 30 min. Even the pricing on rec.gov was corrected within a few days to reflect winter rates!
Speaking with staff today, I promised a better review.
So, thank you folks.
You earned it.
