Zephyr Cove RV & Campground

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May, just before the season started. It took us about an hour to get checked in and to our site. The park wasn't fully staffed yet, so we had to check in at the resort across the street and then when we got to our site, someone was already there, so we had to be moved. Also, there was never anyone in the office at the campground.

The bathrooms and showers are cleaned daily and the maintenance staff is attentive. Most of the washer and dryers work, but keep in mind that they don't have timers. And be aware that the roads in the campground are narrow.

Lake Tahoe across the street is beautiful and we enjoyed the hiking trails. The further from the lodge you go on the beach, the less crowded it is. We also saw a bear our first day here! This area is beautiful and we would come back during the season next time.

Escape the fast pace city life. Surround yourself with nature. Slow down and enjoy some time for yourself on the lake.

I chose a site close to the highway so wasn’t surprised by the noise. I walked around the campground and was impressed with the solitude of the sites further back in campground.
It seems as though the US Forest Service has farmed out the administration of the Campground and the Lodge to Aramark and they seem to be running a skeleton crew.

Checked in afternoon with a reservation. The site was full of picknick tables and was issued a different site that already was taken. 3rd site was OK but, in a couple, hours the management was knocking at the door wanting to Know who was in that spot. Glad I did not arrive after hrs. Location was good. Wi-Fi not usable. T-Mobile 4 bars. Beach was best part. Lots of road noise during day. Showers clean but older and private. Some sites looked a little tight to get into but not a problem with our Van. Will not be staying there again.

Beautiful scenery. Campsites could be more level and ingress and egress a bit easier for those of us with Class A motor homes. Also better advertising of the discounts available would be great . Overall a great place.

Great location on Lake Tahoe. RV sites are close together but nice and shady in a grove of ponderosa pines. There's no town nearby so bring what you need. Highlight is the mountain climb behind the park. Small demerit for having no way to get 16 quarters for the laundry room. The shop across the road is cashless.

Checking in is much better now as it’s been moved to on site instead of across the road. Bathrooms are clean and water runs hot for showers.

Normally we always have a five-star stay at zephyr cove RV resort. This time never just a few glitches due to shoulder season turnover. Otherwise it was just as beautiful as always. Not all of the campsites were available due to transition from Winter to spring. Also the cable TV system was inoperable and not all of the showers we're open yet. However there were public restrooms and showers that were open. Normally having cable TV is a luxury that I don't count on but there were hockey playoff games that I thought maybe I could watch. I guess I'm really saying it was still a five-star experience with the beauty of the trees and the lake and the whole Tahoe experience. Can't wait till my return trip in the fall and maybe one time during the summer.

Zephyr Cove was a very nice location to camp and enjoy the South Lake Tahoe area. We took a walk across the highway which had a crosswalk and stop light to safely cross over to the beach area and walking paths. We took the opportunity to drive all the way around the lake which was SO worth it. The views are spectacular! We even saw a brown bear cross the road in one of the towns. So much to do. Many walking/biking/hiking trails. Lots of shopping opportunities of course. Casinos too. Would definitely go back.
