What Guests Are Saying
Zephyr Cove RV & Campground offers a beautiful location with stunning views of Lake Tahoe and a serene atmosphere, particularly in the off-season when it is less crowded. Many guests appreciate the clean and well-maintained sites, friendly staff, and proximity to the beach and other attractions. However, some reviews mention issues with bathroom cleanliness and management, especially during peak times, along with concerns about pricing and discount availability. Overall, it remains a popular choice for camping, especially in winter.

Only stay in campsite 27 if you are best buddies with the campers in sites 24, 25, and 28. The map makes it look like there is a path between all sites, but that is not the case. You have to walk THROUGH the other sites to get to 27 and when you have to walk all of your gear in, it's many trips through your neighbor's site. Not to mention how tight these sites are together! Honestly, you need to be best buds with the other campers.
We went into it knowing it's a walk-in site, but heads up, it's a pretty steep hill to pack everything up... and there is not a view. Pro tip- bring a wagon and don't stay in site 27 (or 24 or 25)!
We love camping and we love Tahoe, but we will not be going back to Zephyr Cove to camp. The one great thing about the campground is access to the beach, but it's a much better deal to stay somewhere else and pay the parking fee to enjoy the beach. I don't like leaving reviews such as this, but I wish someone had written it for us to read before booking. I hope this helps when making your decision :)

This is a beautiful campground. It’s huge. At the upper end are some very nice tent sites shielded by trees. The shower was clean and access to the beach is just across the street. I’m not sure why the check in is across the street. This is pricey. You’re paying for convenience.

Beautiful area, great campground. However, we did have one problem. After a somewhat windy night, we woke up to a shattered SUV windshield. A pine cone from a surrounding tree fell and hit the windshield on the passenger side. Just be aware that those beautiful pine trees can be dangerous and cause damage.

A Very crowded RV campground. We had Site # 132 which was terrible! A small site with a sloping pad, we were just able to level the RV. There were three transformers surrounded by a wooden fence about 8 feet from our Door. And the site was at a 45 degree angle from the site next to it, so we & they could looking each others sites giving very little privacy. And to top it off, on the other side of the RV was a slight ravine which was the storage place for all the parks excess stuff!! Terrible view from inside the RV.... Don't think we'll back there again!!!

I camped there early April, just before the season began, and I was lucky enough to capture perfect weather and a quiet campground. The staff was amazing and helpful.
My first visit to Lake Tahoe, and I’m so glad I chose this campground! It’s just a short walk across the street to the main beach — super convenient, yet tucked away under towering trees for peace and quiet. The sunset views over the lake from the campground were absolutely stunning. A serene and perfect spot!

The campground is pretty tight, but we had no problem getting in and out. 37' RV. Bathrooms were kept clean and it is just a short walk from your site to the beach. Ate at the restaurant and food was very good as well as the service. It is a credit card only. Checked in and the host was great. He had been working there only eight days, but was very knowledgeable. We would gvo back again.

My family and I go here often for the summer. Such a great place for families and pets. This time around we encounter a couple of bears but they left us alone and vice versa. Definitely recommend.
