Beware of site 154! It is extremely unlevel. Learned the previous camper broke her wrist stepping down off her RV stair as it is very steep due to the unevenness. We had the same issue but luckily didn't hurt ourselves. We asked for accommodations for this (provide an extra step, move us to another site) to no avail (was offered $36 refund for the inconvenience - we stayed 11 days - not much of an accommodation). We moved the RV back as suggested by their site supervisor and our steps were still 3 feet from the ground. Was informed recreation.gov, who owns the site, will not allow them to make improvements, regardless of how dangerous or risky the site is. Just adding a few pavers to elevate the ground to the asphalt would be helpful. Be careful of this site! If you book this site, bring an extra step or two!

We stayed in RV site #185 and all of those site in the 180s are too, too close together. But we did like the location for beauty and for lack of highway noise. I used the public restrooms a couple of times and they were what you'd expect for a campground and stocked with TP. The public beach across the street was a mess of people...far too crowded to enjoy on the weekend. Also, Zephyr Cove states dogs are not allowed on beach, yet they didn't enfore it and people had dogs on the beach.

Zephyr Cove campground is an awesome spot to camp as it's so close to the Zephyr Cove beach, just a walk across the street. I'm not an avid camper, so my opinion about the amenities may be different than someone more experienced. The walk-in camp spots are definitely "hike-in" camp spots! Very steeply up hill from the drop off zone. Many people parked in the no parking zones over night. It was incredibly noisy until early in the morning. Lights on, music playing, yelling and laughing until after 1AM.
While the bathrooms and showers seemed gross to me, the grounds were beautiful with rocks and trees, but our spot's fire pit had not been cleaned out, the fire ring was FULL of ashes and not useable.
Would probably go again for the proximity to the lake, but will try harder to get a drive up spot.

Excellent service by the front office staff,
Marina boating experiences were absolutely wonderful.
Eric ( Supervisor ) of the Zephyr Marina does an exceptional job and has the friendliest, kindest staff who are always keep an eye open for safety issues, are extremely conscientious, expedient, thoughtful,
and very supportive of each customer !
Exceptional campsites. Very clean. Families/kids friendly.
My family have been staying at ZephyrCove campsite for more than 35 years in fact.
If you are looking for a comfortable, safe with large sized sites with friendly staff all around,
this is the place to go . Highly recommended.

This campground was a disaster. It was oversold. The sites were tiny and ridiculously hard to get in and out of with the amount of vehicles that were parked all over the place. There was not enough parking throughout the weekend. The beach was incredibly crowded. The staff were unprepared and unable to handle The number of guests that were reserved over the weekend. On Saturday at the beach they blocked off the parking lot saying it was full very early in the morning. Since we were staying at the resort we were supposed to get free parking at the beach. However, on Saturday they had the parking lot closed off by 9am saying it was full. We had paddle boards, kayaks, umbrellas, ice chests, and more. So we needed to drive our truck into the beach lot to at least unload. While we were in line to get in we noticed they sold a parking permit and let a car in, so we thought oh great that means we will be able to get in and park. Nope! The guy tried to say it was full. We pointed out that he just sold a parking permit and let another car in. We said we at least needed to get in to drop off our beach supplies. He rolled his eyes and said, go ahead, but the parking lot is full. He said we could try to find a spot if we wanted. We got in, unloaded our stuff by the path to the beach, then looked for a spot. We found not only one, but many open spots. It definitely felt like they were saving spots to sell while telling those of us who we were supposed to have free parking with our campsite that it was full.
Then to make matters worse, on checkout day we had to wait 2 hours to leave because our trailer was blocked in by cars that were parked in no parking zones. Instead of handling it the staff gave us the number to a tow truck company. We ended up just waiting and checking out later than check out time.
Also note that you are really far from Stateline and there aren't really bike lanes to get there. We brought bikes, but weren't really able to use them.

It would be nice if this location posted warning about rodents. We had a deer mouse get into our trailer and didn’t notice until our next camping trip nearly 2 weeks later. Now my family and I have potentially been exposed to hantavirus or whatever else and we are extremely concerned.
