What Guests Are Saying
Zephyr Cove RV & Campground offers a beautiful location with stunning views of Lake Tahoe and a serene atmosphere, particularly in the off-season when it is less crowded. Many guests appreciate the clean and well-maintained sites, friendly staff, and proximity to the beach and other attractions. However, some reviews mention issues with bathroom cleanliness and management, especially during peak times, along with concerns about pricing and discount availability. Overall, it remains a popular choice for camping, especially in winter.

Great location and a nice campground. Good tree coverage, asphalt roads/campsites and good hookups. Campsite generally level enough, but we were in a Class A MH and had to use one set of leveling pads and exit from our campsite was narrow with difficult angle due to tree location but we care we got in and out safely. Summary: I would recommend and I would for sure go back.

Online map during booking is inaccurate, need to search for the actual map of the campground for an accurate layout. Sites are small and very close together. Our site had a picnic table at a 30 degree angle which was useless and from what I could tell this was common for many of the sites. Tent area has very little parking forcing campers to park where they should not blocking the road and making it impossible to get an RV through. When trying to leave we needed to search the tent area to find those blocking the road so we could leave. Luckily we found them or we would have been stuck there.

We arrived at the campground and apparently the campground office is closed for check-in. A notice on the door says that happens across the street at the gift shop, so we got back in and drove across the street. The notice on the gift shop door said there is no check-ins done when the store closes and there is an arrival packet on the "After Hours Bulletin adjacent to closed Campground Office, under the Reservation's Last Name." Thus we drove across the street in search of this packet. Outside the closed office door is one unlabeled notice board with general information and one Information Bulletin that had no attached packets. None of this was information was provided after the reservation was made or prior to arriving at the campground. There were other people trying to check in as well with their phones out trying to find where this packet was supposed to be. It was more important for them so say check in is after 1 pm and check out is at 11 am. This packet, which did not exist, was supposed to contain the lot slips for the campsite as well as a map and some rules. We got to our campsite after I checked the Rec.gov App and pulled up the campsite map as if I would make a new reservation.
When we got to our space and parked we crossed the street again to go to the restaurant. After we were sat down they said the food would be pretty late. No explanation, just that it would be late. When it would normally be the time to ask how the meal was and if we wanted the dessert menu a waitress just plopped the bill on the table, not a single word. A moment later they turned on all the lights in the restaurant. No communication about the restaurant closing, no last call, just bright lights.
On top of all this the campsite was the most expensive for the entire trip. It was twice as expensive as other campgrounds that also offered a power hook up and quadruple that of a site to park. It didn't even have a discount for Access Passes which was offered on other reservations.

Very comfortable, heavily treed RV sites. Next to Zephyr cove beach and the dinner cruise boat. close enough to South Tahoe, but not the crowds. Would stay again

Definitely a nice place to camp. It was a bit of a challenge at first to figure out that the tent spot was above the bear box and picnic bench area but once that was established it was a perfect camp site. Showers were hot and the bathrooms were close by. I did eat at the restaurant across the street and enjoyed watching the sunset. Food was delicious. Highly recommended. The next morning I packed up and drove across the street to Paddle board Lake Tahoe. Highly recommend. You have a beach bar with food available, clean restrooms and chill vibes. I will definitely be returning.

It was my first time in Tahoe. The lake was awesome. I could not find any information about what there was to do in that location and none was provided during checking in. Checking in was quick and smooth and the staff was awesome, but no one offer to provide and information on what sites or activities there was to do there. I would suggest a handout to offer to guests to let them know what is available in the area.

Quiet campground. Good restrooms/showers, level sites, easy access to lodge and lake and plenty of trails to walk our dog.
