What Guests Are Saying
Zephyr Cove RV & Campground offers a beautiful location with stunning views of Lake Tahoe and a serene atmosphere, particularly in the off-season when it is less crowded. Many guests appreciate the clean and well-maintained sites, friendly staff, and proximity to the beach and other attractions. However, some reviews mention issues with bathroom cleanliness and management, especially during peak times, along with concerns about pricing and discount availability. Overall, it remains a popular choice for camping, especially in winter.

When I arrived, place seemed to be unmanaged. (3:30PM) Called # and found someone across the street in the Gift Shop. "We're pretty laid back." Did not see anyone monitoring the sites. Old tags were still on the posts. A lot of disrepair. Covers off the utility boxes. My site and adjacent site, fences had been backed into (even visible in the site picture for #110). Also, fence rail had been removed and was partially burned. There were Nice new tables stamped U.S.F.S. . Staff focus was on bringing out snowmobiles for winter concession. I had stopped in a few weeks earlier staff was distributing price sheets with pricing different from that on Rec.Gov. This is really a nice place. However, it needs Attention and Management. Sites need to be serviced and tables set up. some sites looked like there was not space for tables. This is in serious need of Management and Servicing. It was quiet, guests were respectful. Just no Management.

We went late October. Not a whole lot of folks camping. Clean, full, hookups. Loved it.

This is a beautiful campground and the location can’t be beat. We selected a premium pull-through site, and still couldn’t pull into it because of the tightness of the interior roads and the trees. Even after unhooking our TOAD, we still couldn’t pull into the site, and we’re only 38’ without the TOAD. We just couldn’t make the turn into the site. We eventually had to back into our pull-through. We were just barely able to keep our Jeep Cherokee on the pad as well. Fortunately there’s lots of other parking throughout the campground for vehicles, and we were there during mid-October, so it wasn’t busy. They have propane on site, but it’s not for the campers. If you think you might need propane, make sure you fill up before arriving. The U-Haul in S. Lake Tahoe worked great for us. We were even able to navigate through their parking lot with our motorhome easier than the campground. I did see a 45’ class A next to us, and they had a Cherokee Toad as well, but I’m assuming they had to do what we did to get into their site as well. If you’re 35’ or more, HIGHLY recommend you make sure you get a site you KNOW you can get into before arriving here, if possible. When it’s busy season, you might not get an opportunity to get a different site. Regardless, it was still a fabulous stay, you can get full hookups, they accept pets, and the lake is a quick walk across the street. I really couldn’t find another place with all that.

Campground was right at the lake, beautiful scenery, the site itself was great, wonderful hikes, lots to do in the area, and great sunsets! Jordan, who worked at the camp office was nice, sweet, and amazing. The campground itself had a trash throughout and the bathrooms were pretty gross. We had to clean up several of them, replace the garbage bags ourselves because they were overflowing and there was trash on the floors. Also, we had to plunge one of the toilets a few times because when we went into the bathroom by our site, it was constantly backed up/clogged. Overall, Tahoe is a great area and we will give the campground a second chance. Maybe if they’re fully staffed the maintenance will be better.

Camping here in August was an incredible experience! The natural beauty of the area was breathtaking, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The weather was perfect for outdoor activities, and our family thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the beach and exploring the surrounding area. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable camping trip!

The spot we reserved had a tree in the way of extending our slide and person who helped us find another spot was friendly and helpful.

The campground was well taken care of and the views are amazing! The bathrooms are functional and clean, and the staff was great, though due to the gov. shutdown and being off season the hours were a bit hit or miss.

We thought this campground was fabulous. We stayed for four nights in early October. Weather was definitely turning cold but we lucked out with brilliant sunny days. Barely anyone else in the campground and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.
We were in Site 113 which was fabulous - full hookups - good space between our site and the next door neighbors and had a great aspect looking out towards the lake and into the forest. The campground is full of beautiful tall pines trees, and yes! That means you need to be able to steer your enormous RV around them! Lol the other reviews for this campground 🥴. But seriously yes there are obstacles here and you will need to know how to level your RV as well as drive it properly.
Easy stroll across the road to enjoy the lake and the walking paths. Definitely would come back here again.

Definitely one of the most beautiful campgrounds I've ever stayed at. The trees are gorgeous! If you do not like shade do not camp here. The trees do make it a little challenging when parking your rig but don't give up you can do it. Secluded Forest camping on Lake Tahoe with all needed amenities just minutes away.
