The campground and Chaco visitor center staff were very nice and helpful - the road into the campground is terrible.
We broke a spring on our travel trailer driving into the campground and really, really appreciated the campground & Chaco visitor center staff's help with locating where we could get a replacement spring.
In late March the weather was volatile - everything from sun with reasonable temps to high winds to below freezing temps & snow overnight. Our trip this year coincided with a trip to the San Ysidro, NM area the weekend before. We're looking at late April or early May for our next trip to Chaco, and hopefully more stable weather.
The Chaco site is well worth visiting.

It’s a nice campground, and the other folks there were friendly and quiet at night. If you go in March be prepared for lots of wind and cold nights! I’m glad we were not in a tent. Also a great base camp to explore all the trails at the park.

Love the beauty and simplicity of the campground. Wish the last unpaved portion of the road from the North was grated better.

Nice quite, awesome night sky, flush toilets, running water and propane heated bathrooms during the cold. Close to everything in the park.. will be coming back

We really enjoyed staying here. The bathrooms were the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground. It was very quiet and well maintained. Chaco was definitely worth staying at for several days to try to see everything. We stayed for four days/three nights and it definitely wasn't enough. There is wifi at the visitor center, which is nearby and open every day.

Sites are small with no privacy. Restrooms were clean and heated (but no hot water). A number of the better sites along the cliff side remain closed due to rockfalls.
