What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained camping experience in Chaco Canyon, with stunning views, amazing night skies, and friendly campground hosts who provide valuable information and assistance. The campground is clean and organized, featuring level sites and access to hiking trails and ancient ruins. However, visitors should be aware of the rough access roads, limited privacy between campsites, and occasional issues with water and restroom facilities.

It was a great place to camp. Bathrooms were very clean and every lot had nicely prepared foundation for the tents. And this in the middle of a wonderful place. Staff at the visitor center were so friendly as well.

Due to arriving later than we planned and leaving early we weren’t at the campground long enough to leave a reputable review. The setting is pretty awesome and the campground was full.

We loved camping at Gallo! Campsite was spacious and level. We rode our e-bikes to the different great houses, Kivas and trail heads in the area. It was an amazing experience!

I didn't end up going because of the amount of rain in the area. I was advised by park officials to not come the first 2 days, and opted not to come for the last couple of days because of distance/time getting there from my home for only a couple of days. I like to spend 5-7 days there.

Thought this was a boon docking campground. So happy to experience functioning bathrooms, running water and power in the lavs.

I missed the first night due to rain and impassible roads (thank you to the rangers for the road warning) but arrived early on day 2 and set up camp quickly to enjoy the full day at the park. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The rest rooms were clean and accessible. We had a bit of rain and my tent pad drained well. The campground was full and quiet. The campsites are close to the visitor's center and the loop road but far enough away to feel like you had your own piece of the petroglyphs and rock formations.

We had a wonderful visit to to Chaco and stayed at the Gallo campground. We spent 5 days there and did a lot of hikes and learned about the ancient Puebloan communities that were there over a thousand years ago.

It's a great little campground, but the sites are very open and exposed. The camp hosts were great as well as everyone at the Visitor Center.
