Road in is washboard. Well worth it though given the ruins. Campers need to be aware of fire potential and not make campfires when windy. Some repairs needed to stall doors in women's restroom in campground. One has latch installed so lock is outside, hmm, one has fingerhole where you can push to lock but doesn't actually latch. Nonetheless, Great fun.

The website was a little hard to use- I had to find a space that we fit and it was in a weird location on the website. No map of campground on the website either. The actual camping though was lovely hoping to return sometime and spend more time in Chaco canyon

This was an amazing place. The drive into the park was difficult and hard on the vehicles but we had a Ford Transit Van and it was ok. I don't think a 5th wheel or trailer would do as well. The campground had a nice bathroom, of course, no showers but very clean. There was also a dumping station. The park itself was a wonder. Why don't we ever learn about this in school.

Great views. NO cell service nor hook ups for campers (no elec. or water). Running water at heated bathrooms, no showers. Very quiet. Great place to Stargaze! We went in Winter and it was Cold 19*.

Very clean and orderly, as you would expect from a federal site. The big, nice surprise was running water / meaning flusher toilets. We expected cold stinky toilets, but we had heated flushing toilets. Wonderful!
There are no power connections / shore power for campers. Bring everything you need, don't assume.

Our experience at the Gallo Campground in Chaco Canyon was Fabulous! Road to get in was dry but we still only went 10-15 miles per hour in our 4x4 sprinter van , warm in the day , cold at night , bring wood and water
