What Guests Are Saying
Black Canyon Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and beautiful surroundings, making it a favored spot for campers. The spacious sites, friendly camp hosts, and proximity to hiking trails and Santa Fe enhance the overall experience. However, the lack of water has been a consistent issue, and some visitors have reported problems with caterpillar infestations and site accessibility.

Very nice campground. Spaces are fairly private. Great access to trails and to Santa Fe - best of both worlds.

Beautiful NF campground (Black Canyon). But no water and an a shared dump station that needs a paved surface!

The campground was clean and beautiful. There were natural barriers between each campsite which helped cut down on noise and distractions. Very friendly campers and the trees were awesome.

Love Black Canyon State Park. Excellent location, excellent campsites, very nice walking trail behind the campground. Camp host was very personable and helpful. I’ll spend all the rest of my birthdays there if possible.

This is a spectacularly beautiful campground. The spaces are far apart so you get lots of privacy. They are paved and the fire pit/picnic table area is paved and level. Several restrooms. There are no hookups and at the time we stayed there was no water available in the area. Well worth it to stay in such a lovely, heavily forested spot.

Horrible hosts. Don't keep track of guests and question your reservation. Also someone parked in my spot in my second reservation and when I tried to get the attention of the hosts, they didn't respond, so I didn't even get to stay at the campsite. A total waste of money.

The facilities are very nice and the campground host (Patricia) was terrific. There are trails nearby to hike but you are not far from the convenience of Santa Fe. There was plenty of room for parking and the individual campsites were well situated.
