We visited in the fall. The leaves were beautiful, the weather perfect. We're already planning to go back again this year.

Beautiful and well maintained campground. You have your choice of setting up camp right next to the river or up the mountain. There are both tent and RV spots available. There is alot to do in and around the campground. Rafting in the summer, the great smokey railroad just outside the campground and pleanty of trails to hike. I try to go once a year on my way up the blue ridge usually in late October. I would recommend to anyone, kids or not.

Great campground but many of the sites are not large enough for a RV with slide outs. We had 85 and our slide out was in the road as you had to parallel park. We were able to move to 55 which was awesome!
Great hiking and many waterfalls right from the campground, no driving required

The campsite flooded due to excessive (hurricane) rain. The rangers came and found us, told us of the risk, and helped us get new campsites that were not in the way of the river flooding. It could not have been a smoother process.

We arrived to find our reserved campsite was taken with a family that had a reservation on that site also. The office was closed but we did find a spot after a while. The area was simply beautiful. We walked to the waterfalls and the Deep Creek loop. We would have stayed another nite but the campground closed.

The trails, waterfalls, and river were all wonderful. The campground is nice, but slack on enforcing the rules.
