About Cedar Point Campground

Cedar Point Campground and Recreation Area is located in eastern North Carolina at the junction of the White Oak River and the Bogue Sound, immediately adjacent to the Swansboro Inlet. It is within 1 mile of full service shopping, and within 2 miles of NC's Crystal Coast and the barrier island beach community of Bogue Banks. The campground is extremely busy and reservations are recommended but must be made 3 days in advance. Of the 36 campsites, 4 are considered first-come, first served campsites that cannot be reserved or held, so a person must physically be there with their camping equipment to purchase the campsite. Cedar Point campground has the option to use Scan & Pay system, but by the rules of recreation.gov it may only be used for first-come, first served sites. Please make sure to contact a campground host to ensure availability before paying for any campsite. Failure to check with the campground host for availability may result in the loss of your camping fee.

We always enjoy going to Cedar Point campground. We find it to be a very enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere each time. The grounds are well maintained and the bath house is always clean. We love the nature trails. The campsites are spacious and provides privacy which we find very accomodating. They each have picnic tables and firepits provided. There is not a water hookup but there is a place to fill up your water tank for your camper or RV and there are also plenty of clean water pumps located all around the grounds that is close to each campsite. There is an electric hookup at each campsite. There is also a dump station to empty your tanks on the way out. And, if you have small children it is extra nice because the speed limit through the park is 5mph so you dont have to worry about them walking or riding bikes. The park is also pet friendly and we have found that those who bring pets are always mindfull to pick up behind them and keep them from disturbing other campers. The area is close to grocery stores, hardware store and restaurants. If you love a good breakfast, make sure to visit the Lighthouse Cafe which is about a mile from the campground. The Emerald Isle beach is about five minutes away and Swansboro is a nice quaint town to visit while in the area as well. If you like family friendly or just a private quiet place then this campground will not disappoint. Also, I want to add that the host are very nice and most helpful.

Sites are well spaced. This time of year in the late fall, the shower rooms need some heat.

We love this campground. The only negative was the person at the dumpstation ahead of us (people from Campsite #23) spilled his black tank on the ground and knew he did it and immediately drove away. I wasn't surprised since they also didn't keep to the quiet hours either and were loud well past 1am. Otherwise, this place is perfect. You can't help rude people.

The campground is very well maintained and the camp hosts are friendly. The spots are spacious and nice and are able to fit a 45' 5th wheel. You are very close to Emerald Isle where there is plenty to do there. We did ride our bikes from the campground to Emerald Isle and it does say "bike friendly" but be cautious because you are riding with a lot of vehicle traffic and going over the big bridge with traffic. We will come back and stay here again to explore more.

It's a nicely laid out campground with large lots and big grassy areas. The bathrooms were clean. It's convenient to a hiking/biking trail and close to everything in Emerald Isle. We would stay there again!!

Great location. The facilities were clean but a little dated. This was my second visit and I'll be back again. Can't beat the price.
