About Cedar Point Campground

Cedar Point Campground and Recreation Area is located in eastern North Carolina at the junction of the White Oak River and the Bogue Sound, immediately adjacent to the Swansboro Inlet. It is within 1 mile of full service shopping, and within 2 miles of NC's Crystal Coast and the barrier island beach community of Bogue Banks. The campground is extremely busy and reservations are recommended but must be made 3 days in advance. Of the 36 campsites, 4 are considered first-come, first served campsites that cannot be reserved or held, so a person must physically be there with their camping equipment to purchase the campsite. Cedar Point campground has the option to use Scan & Pay system, but by the rules of recreation.gov it may only be used for first-come, first served sites. Please make sure to contact a campground host to ensure availability before paying for any campsite. Failure to check with the campground host for availability may result in the loss of your camping fee.

First visit to this campground. Loved the space between camp sites. Grounds were clean. Nice area to hike or bike. Showers had no temperature adjustment and on site water would have been nice. Overall, enjoyed stay and would visit again.

Brilliant as always. Been to Cedar Point a number of times and always enjoy it. Site hosts were very helpful and friendly. Bathroom facilities are clean.
Nearby kayaking and walking as well as reasonably safe cycling to Swansboro.
Beaufort worth a visit, in particular The Old Burying Ground on Ann St. Cemetery has a rich history going back to the late 17th century.
Fort Macon also a great visit. Take the free tour and learn the history of it.

We had a wonderful time. Our site was private, very quiet and relaxing. Everything we needed for our stay and more. We enjoyed riding our bikes on the trails and was able to see osprey nest. The park manager Robbie, was most helpful and friendly. We have already booked another trip in
November and looking forward to going back.

Campground is very clean, well kept and surprisingly spacious. Most sites seemed level. The campground is only about a 12 minute drive from the beach at Emerald Isle and minutes away from a variety of stores and restaurants. The Tidelands National Trail is also very close and quite beautiful. We selected our site online and prepaid so we never saw a host to check in with and just drove to our site and set up. Mid-week the campground was very quiet and maybe 60% full but filled up quickly as the weekend approached. Bugs were not much of a problem but mosquito netting on our awning helped a great deal. The cicadas put on an incredibly loud and entertaining show every evening as the sun was going down. This is a wonderful campground that I'm sure we'll be visiting again soon.

Great little campground. I only wished they had installed water access at each camping site when the facility was built. The shower temps are a little up and down at times but no big deal. Campground hosts do a very good job. Our family certainly enjoy the times we spend there.

It was our first site with our camper. We had a great time here. The facilities and grounds were very clean. There was adequate space between sites.
