It's a nice quiet place, family friendly.
Easy access to beaches, aquarium, fort macon, Edventure candy icecream shop swansboro.Laundromat in swansboro. Recommend shacklefort island for wild horses and conch shells. Also hammocks beach for trip out to bear island.

A nice, quiet campground close to the beaches that's open year-round. With a hiking trail along the water and access for kayaking, it's one of my favorite places to camp. The bathrooms are clean and heated during the winter months. The showers have plenty of hot water, but they are not heated like the bathrooms, so most campers don't use them when the temperatures drop. All sites have electric, but water is spread out between sites so there is no hookup allowed and no sewer service other than a dump station is provided. The campground hosts are friendly and helpful and keep the sites and facilities clean.

The bathroom/shower area should be upgraded. No heat in the showers, so when cold taking a shower is impossible. Hot water took forever with having to keep pushing button! Should be updated for sure!! Please fix this!!

Nice place, my only comment, I wish there was a way to keep the changing area dry while showing.

Very nice campground with large sites. The sites were not right on top of each other. The bath facilities were fine, showers were hot but you couldn't control the temperature and it was a push button that kept the water on for a minute or two each time it was pressed. This isn't a complaint but an observation. We were camping after all. No water or sewer hookups on the individual sites but water and dump station was conveniently located.
