About Cedar Point Campground

Cedar Point Campground and Recreation Area is located in eastern North Carolina at the junction of the White Oak River and the Bogue Sound, immediately adjacent to the Swansboro Inlet. It is within 1 mile of full service shopping, and within 2 miles of NC's Crystal Coast and the barrier island beach community of Bogue Banks. The campground is extremely busy and reservations are recommended but must be made 3 days in advance. Of the 36 campsites, 4 are considered first-come, first served campsites that cannot be reserved or held, so a person must physically be there with their camping equipment to purchase the campsite. Cedar Point campground has the option to use Scan & Pay system, but by the rules of recreation.gov it may only be used for first-come, first served sites. Please make sure to contact a campground host to ensure availability before paying for any campsite. Failure to check with the campground host for availability may result in the loss of your camping fee.

Nice campground with level, paved sites. The restrooms and showers could have used more cleaning and attention.

Beautiful campground. Good amount of space between sites. Grounds and restrooms clean. Tidal river less than 1/4 mile that is great for kayaking or canoeing.

The campground was clean with well-spaced sites. Restroom and shower facilities were clean and modern. Cedar Point has a nice boating access that we were able to use for our kayaks. We got lucky with the weather in late September and had little wind or rain which of course added to our enjoyment. This location is in close proximity to many locations and sites of interest which initially appealed to us and proved to be very convenient to the campground. We definitely plan to return from our far western location in North Carolina next year.

We had a great time. Campground was quiet and clean. Bathhouse was clean. When we arrived we forgot to fill up with water so that was a challenge but a neighbor camper helped us out. There is a walking trail not far from the campground which was beautiful. Definitely will be back again.

Site was ok, no complaints. Bathrooms were adequate but dated and grimy with lots of spiders, insects, and frogs. We spend almost all our camping time at public lands so they weren’t the worst we’ve seen but definitely towards the bottom of the list. Showers are behind locking doors so extra points for that.

It was a great trip... love this campground. Only suggestion would be to change out the rubber hose for potable water for a plastic or vinyl drinking water hose, so your day tank doesn't taste like rubber.
