When we arrived we asked the host if we could change sites to a First come First served site. We were told no. She said you had to reserve the site for 14 days. What?????? We had never heard of this before. During our three night stay, no one came in and reserved that site. There are not any rangers at this campground, only the hosts. We ended up staying at our original site. The sites are large and reasonably maintained. Bathrooms are clean. It is a basic campground.

This is a regular stop on our snowbird trips. Lovely area, close to beaches with many things to see and do. We like the quiet location and generous site spaces. The showers could use updating and individual site water, would help enormously.

Nice quiet campground. Sites have plenty of space and restrooms/showers are clean. Only downside is the sites are electric-only. Made our 2-week stay slightly more challenging with having to haul fresh water to our rig every few days.
The nearby nature trail is great for families. Fort Macon State Park, about 40 minutes away, is definitely worth a visit. Grocery stores and Tractor Supply (for propane) are a short drive away. Laundromats are about 30 minutes from the campground. Anything you need is less than an hour’s drive.

This campground was nicely located near all the amenities one would want. The campground itself was very clean and it was very quiet, spacious not crowded at all. The facilities are a bit older, but in good condition, it appears they have updated their water distribution system, and the water quality appears to be very good. The only odd occurrence was the occasional noise of blasting most likely from an open pit or maybe even some military exercises Outside of that it was a great place to stay.
