About Cedar Point Campground

Cedar Point Campground and Recreation Area is located in eastern North Carolina at the junction of the White Oak River and the Bogue Sound, immediately adjacent to the Swansboro Inlet. It is within 1 mile of full service shopping, and within 2 miles of NC's Crystal Coast and the barrier island beach community of Bogue Banks. The campground is extremely busy and reservations are recommended but must be made 3 days in advance. Of the 36 campsites, 4 are considered first-come, first served campsites that cannot be reserved or held, so a person must physically be there with their camping equipment to purchase the campsite. Cedar Point campground has the option to use Scan & Pay system, but by the rules of recreation.gov it may only be used for first-come, first served sites. Please make sure to contact a campground host to ensure availability before paying for any campsite. Failure to check with the campground host for availability may result in the loss of your camping fee.

The host staff are Fabulous, 5 stars!
However the facility itself is so need of work.
Doors on showers/toilets are way past use.
The host staff does NOT have simple tools/equipment to maintain the facility. Some sort of cart buggy 4by4 gator to use to load debris or to disperse travels etc.
And most important the power pedestals and electric power to RV's should be inspected. I had site 4 that had 111 volts one leg and 130 volts the other. My RV would could not use this voltage issue. 130 volts can be a safty issue. 111 volts will NOT run equipment, AC nor heater. Site 11 has issues. TIME TO UP GRADE THE POWER OUTPUTS! PERIOD.
Luckily for me I was able to move otherwise I could not get refund(didn't want refund if I could even get it, I wanted to camp!) Again thumbs up to the Hosts for there help.
Get those folks some transportation and items to upkeep the grounds.
Great place!

The campground is usually quiet and peaceful. Very close to many restaurants and shopping. Both Swansboro and Emerald Isle are wonderful. Swansboro for shopping / restaurants and Emerald Isle for beach and other activities. Boating, fishing, kayaking are popular in the area. This facility however has started to neglect maintenance on their bathroom and shower facilities. Leaky toilets, no lock on shower door, metal rusted and sticking out on shower door and cleanliness. The camp host are very nice nice and helpful but repairs are NOT their job.

We had a great stay here. Beautiful area and conveniently located near town. The only issues we had was it was very narrow to get our big rig backed into the site and it’s not possible to hook up a hose to the water spout. Aside from that we had a great stay and the site was beautiful.

The sides of the walking trails need to be mowed because some parts are getting overgrown. Everything else was great.

This is by far my favorite campground! I love that it’s close to the water because I always bring my kayak with me. They have a boat ramp that works great for my kayak trailer but I have seen some boats get stuck in the mud at low tide near the ramp. It’s ok at high tide. I love this place!
