What Guests Are Saying
Smokemont Campground offers a clean and tranquil setting with ample space, a nearby stream, and access to numerous hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the wildlife, including elk sightings, and the helpful staff. While some amenities like showers are lacking, the overall experience is positive, with a focus on nature and a peaceful atmosphere. However, campsite proximity and occasional noise from fellow campers can be drawbacks.

No notice that the potable water wasn’t on.
Other than that it was a great spot.

Would definitely camp here again. It is a great campground. That being said, the guest before me left a little bit of trash which I had to take care of (a couple of beer bottles and caps), and privacy is limited, but that is to be expected. Again, I definitely would stay here again and I had a great time.

Smokemont was great. Nice level spot with adequate room for our 24' camper van.
A nice short hike across the stream got us ready for our day of driving headed home.

Awesome space right by the river, slept to the sound of the flowing water. Cool bridges and a short nature walk in the campground. Bathrooms clean and dishwashing station provided. We got to see a field FULL of elk on the way out of the park!!

Nice campground. Close to Bryson City, Gatlinburg and plenty of mountain trails.
