There wasn’t really a level spot for our tent and the sites in our loop were extremely close. Right on top of each other. Normal conversation could be heard between sites. Bathroom had a terrible odor the whole time. But fire pit and picnic table were great.

Our favorite campground in the GSMNP! We love the spacious sites, the park staff and rangers are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Even when full up it’s quiet and peaceful.

We went camping at Elkmont in Cherokee NC, our camp site was large with a lot of shade. Even though it was a hot month, we actually had a cool breeze and slept good. Saw lots of Elk. Very enjoyable

Beautiful campground and a wonderful place to stay if you are prepared to boondock. No hookups on the site but fresh water was close and the flush toilets are nice.
