Overall the campground and the staff are good. However, during my stay two of three restrooms were closed for unknown reasons. This forced all campers to utilize one facility. In the morning, lines would form outside and delays were created. The campground was almost full so the other restrooms should have been available.

We camped in A loop and both the bathroom and the shower stalls were closed. We didn’t know this until we arrived and it really impacted our stay. There was a long walk to the open bathroom in the loop that had trailers and vans and many people trying to use the only facilities

Very nice Camp Ground. Would stay there again. Not sure if I would stay there during the summer months absolutely no trees no shade. But other than that very nice Camp Ground very spacious. We did not use any of the bath houses. All as it was was electric and water hook up, and you had to drive out the base or out the campground to go to the dump station that was across the highway in like a marina other than that great location seen a lot of things

The location is hard to beat. You are right on the water with beautiful views, steady coastal breezes, and easy access to both the ocean and the inlet. It is one of those places where you can just sit outside, relax, and enjoy the sound of the waves without needing much else.
The campground itself is well maintained and thoughtfully laid out. Sites are spacious enough to feel comfortable, and everything was clean and in good shape. Even with only one bathhouse open during the off season, it was kept clean and we never had to wait long, which says a lot about how well it is managed.
It is also a great spot if you enjoy fishing, walking the shoreline, or just taking in a classic Outer Banks sunset. The overall atmosphere is calm, simple, and exactly what you want from a coastal campground.
All in all, this is a fantastic place for a relaxing getaway. Beautiful setting, well kept facilities, and a great balance of convenience and natural scenery. We will definitely be back.

In the sand dunes. Very clean and peaceful.

Small sites but nice place to spend a night or two checking out the sand dunes, lighthouse and Wright Brothers Memorial. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Well managed campground!

The sites are relatively tight. The facilities are in good working order. Short walk through the dunes to the ocean. Large beach to enjoy! One restaurant across the street with limited hours. The campground was fine for a short stay and then move on.

Very crowed campsite, no privacy at all, very windy most of the time. The dump station is across the street at the dock.

North (From Richmond, VA)
Follow I-95 South to Richmond, VA. Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. Take I-64 or I-664 to Chesapeake, VA. From I-64, take Exit 291B to Route 168, the Chesapeake Expressway (a toll-road costing $3.00- $6.00 each way). Once in North Carolina, Route 168 turns into US-158 East. Follow US-158 East through Nags Head, NC to the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
West (From Rocky Mount, NC)
Follow US-64 East through Tarboro, Williamston, Plymouth, Columbia, and Manteo, crossing the Alligator River Bridge and the Virginia Dare Bridge. Keep going on US-64 East to Nags Head, NC, going over the Washington Baum Bridge, to the junction of NC-12 South. Turn right onto NC-12 South and you will be at the north entrance. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
South (From Florence, SC)
Take I-95 North to Wilson, NC. Take US-264 East through Greenville, NC and Washington, NC. From Washington, NC, take US-17 to Williamston and follow US-64 East to Nags Head, NC and the junction of NC-12 South. Continue on NC-12 South, and the campground will be on your left just before you reach Bonner Bridge over Oregon Inlet.
Oregon Inlet Campground is accessible via NC-12 South, which connects to US-158 East and is reached from I-64 and US-64. US-64 provides access from the west, while US-158 serves as a primary route from the north and east.

Policies & Rules
General
- All campsites are exposed and subject to weather extremes. There are no shaded sites in the campground.
- Camping is limited to a total of 14 days of camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Making reservations under another name or account to circumvent the 14 day restriction is prohibited.
- Generators must be turned off during quiet hours.
- Wood fires are not permitted in the campground. Only charcoal cooking fires are permitted in a grill, stove, or other self-contained unit.
- A fire may be ignited and maintained only by using fuel sources designed and commonly used for warmth or the preparation of food, such as charcoal briquettes or natural firewood. Lighting or maintaining a fire with other materials including, but not limited to, flammable liquids, garbage, fireworks, plastics, aerosol canisters, batteries, or other manufactured or synthetic materials, is prohibited.
- All equipment must fit on the site pad; large RVs over 25 feet may have to park second vehicles in auxiliary parking away from the campground, or purchase an additional campsite. Vehicles cannot park on the grass.
- Biting insects are prevalent in the summer months, therefore netting and repellent are recommended.
- There is a limit of 6 persons per site, a maximum of 2 cars, or 1 car and 1 trailer, and a maximum of two tents.
- The Access Pass and both the Senior Annual and Senior Lifetime Pass are the only passes that provide a discount on the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party. The discount does not apply to utility hookups. The pass discount must be applied at the time of the reservation; it cannot be applied retroactively.
