What Guests Are Saying
Cheoah Point Campground offers a beautiful and serene setting near Santeetlah Lake, with friendly and helpful hosts, clean bathrooms, and well-maintained facilities. While campsites are close together, many visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere and scenic views, making it a great spot for group camping. Some concerns include limited privacy at RV sites and occasional safety issues, but overall, guests look forward to returning for a peaceful retreat.

The sites with electric are close together, much like a parking lot. The other sites are spread out but all are double sites.

I loved the lake campground, except the sites are too close together. Also, the bathrooms and
showers were not cleaned even once in the time we were there - 4 days! Especially during a pandemic,
a daily cleaning should be done.

Excellent campground. It was exactly what my family and I were looking for. Great access to fishing from shores nearby and great access to trails. We used this spot as a gateway to Smokey Mountain National Park as well.
DO NOT take Hwy. 129 if you age pulling anything! Take an alternative route!! That route is called Dragon Slayer for a reason! It has over 300 curves on a steep incline / decline.

Nice campground convenient to Joyce Kilmer and Tail of the Dragon. The lake and swim area are beautiful.

I love this campground and the lake. I did have a couple problems. The first one was that the people in my campsite were not even there when I arrived. I talked to the camp caretakers and they said they had told them they needed to leave on time but....I had to wait hours for them to get back and break down their camp. The only other issue is that the RV sites are way to close together. They need to be about twice that size. I have a little camper and if someone comes in with a big bus my view is destroyed.

Great campground & location

{"text"=>"Just north of Robbinsville on Lake Santeetlah. Fresh water faucets throughout the park but not at the site, so fill up before you get settled. No dump station. I had 50 amp electric at the site $25 a night. Also free hot showers. Not far at all from Tail of the Dragon. A great ride is to take the Joyce Kilmer to the Cherohala Skyway, then up through Novore to 129 South, to the Tail of the Dragon and Deals Gap, and back to the campsite. It'll take you about 4-5 hours if you stop and take pictures like I did. What a ride! There is not much signal at the campsite, I had one, sometimes two of Verizon, but that was it. But it was still a great place.", "languageCode"=>"en"}
