What Guests Are Saying
Big Bend offers a spacious and peaceful camping experience with well-maintained sites, many shaded areas, and a nice restaurant at the dam. However, some noted issues with overgrown grass and stickers, which could make it difficult for pets and outdoor activities.

I especially thank the camp hosts. They were very accommodating at check-in and stopped campsite several times. Particularly nice that the gentleman came to alert us about the tornado shelter. Great people.
I gave a low overall rating to the trip because for the time-frame I chose for my reservation it turned out the weather was horrible, with many windy days, and the fishing was very slow. Several severe storm warnings.

Always enjoy staying at Big Bend. Stay was dampened a little bit by the fact that the toilet was backed up in mens room for a couple days, and the hand dryer didn’t work at all. Hope they are fixed.
Other than that, stay was nice. People at the entrance booth have always been very nice and helpful, and they were this time also.

Camp site was clean and well mowed, and had a new charcoal grill. Check in people were friendly and efficient.

We’ve been camping here to fish river for over 30 years, less 2020 (covid). They are great campgrounds & the host are always nice & helpful. Bathrooms & showers are always kept up & we have seen many improvements over the years. This a lot of overgrown vegetation was cleaned up. Great place to camp. See you next April.
