What Guests Are Saying
Big Bend offers a spacious and peaceful camping experience with well-maintained sites, many shaded areas, and a nice restaurant at the dam. Reviewers appreciated the friendly staff and clean facilities, with many expressing a desire to return. However, some noted issues with overgrown grass and stickers, which could make it difficult for pets and outdoor activities.

A9 is a great spot for tent camping. It helps keep you out of the wind and was kinda secluded. There was a large red ant den with lots of action, but thankfully they didn't get into our stuff. Also the raccoons were after our food! They opened our tote and tried to take our marshmallows! There's a bathroom not far; It is a porter pot. The upper bathrooms by the park were kept clean. The frisbee golf course was fun. We plan to stay in this spot again!

Our family had a wonderful relaxing time at campsite A34. It would be an added blessing if there were shelters over the picnic table.

September is a great time of year to camp at Canton Lake. The weather was beautiful, no wind, moderate temperatures, and not that many people. I camped alone and slept in my truck. The bathhouse was clean. I enjoyed the owls talking to one another during the night. I heartily recommend you try Canton Lake the next time you're looking for someplace to go not too far from where you live.

I don’t know what is going on but they are really letting this campground fall apart. It seems like they are spending all the money on Canadian and completely neglecting Big Bend. It’s just really sad.
