Driftwood campground offers great access to the dunes and features friendly and helpful camp hosts, enhancing the overall experience for visitors. While the campground is popular and well-loved by many for its atmosphere and recreational opportunities, some reviews highlight concerns about maintenance, particularly regarding bathroom facilities and limited shower hours. Despite these issues, many campers express a desire to return, appreciating the beautiful surroundings and the camaraderie found among fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

There was a trailer in the spot that I reserved. The area also smelled like urine.

Exceeded monthly allowance of waste water and therefore no water was available meaning sinks and showers also. Rec.gov did not reach out to us with this nor did we get any compensation for the full price paid for amenities we did not have access to. We would have canceled our trip if we had known showers and running water were not available. Shame on them for not refunding stays during this duration and importantly, not letting anyone know prior to the date of arrival.

Not from the area. Made reservation on line, as required. Thought it would be a good idea to camp closest to the beach. REALITY: Walmart parking lot with atvs. You need to do better webpaging and tell campers what to expect. No phone connection to modify camping situation. You need a better reservation issue department.

We have been going to the Oregon Dunes off and on for well over 30 years. Driftwood campground has been our favorite place to go.
Until this last visit Aug 17-20. We have never seen this campground in such an awful state and are so disappointed. Pavement not cleaned off, no groundskeeping at all, dog crap. The worse was the restrooms. The women’s garbages were full, a toilet out of order and no toilet paper. The men’s room was toxic, not clean at all with vomit everywhere that had been there for days from what the other campers told us. The main men’s restroom had only 1 working sink.
This is not acceptable. This is a very popular spot. It needs to be taken care of !!

Great camp hosts!!! My complaints would be the shower hours, shower water pressure, and the theft. We had gas cans stolen which talking to the hosts it's a common issue.

we have stayed here for 45 summers in a row. we love everything about it except the hours of the showers. it is ridiculous that after a day of duning and being in salt water, that we cannot take a shower. we have been told in the past it had to do with the septic load, but it makes more sense to me that you spread out the water usage. We pay a lot for services there, but are short changed in the shower department.

We always enjoy staying at Driftwood. Easy access to the dunes. The camp hosts are great! Donny the camp host is always very nice and helpful.
The bathrooms are always clean and now the showers are free. The showers are now warmer also. The only negative that I would say is that the water pressure in the showers is very low.
