One of our favorite campgrounds, especially the Bench sites. Our only complaint is that internet service is bad unless you go down by the lake.

Lots of shady sites. Pretty quiet during the week. Many families with kids on the weekends.

We had some site confusion on our part but a call to rec,gov succeeded in getting that sorted out
Weather wasn't the best on arrival or day one so we visited nearby Watkins Glen a favorite with us, also Corning NY and The Grand Canyon of the East near Wellsboro pa.
Day 3 the weather cleared and we were able to take advantage of Kayaking on Cowanesque Lake which is why we come to Tompkins campground.
With the increased popularity of camping it is more difficult than ever to get a reservation
We wonder with climate change also if the camping season could be extended from labor day as far out as November

The soap dispenser was out of soap in the women's bathroom our entire stay but otherwise, the campsite was very nice and we had a great time.
