Our favorite campground if we are in the Bench loop, right at the water because we have a boat! Near the PA Grand Canyon in Wellsboro, PA and also Corning, NY.

I was very impressed with the Ladies that patrolled and kept things in order, very professional and fair ! explained everything and ensured that it was understood ! they kept control and was very business like in their responses to questions ! they where accessible and ready to answer any questions or inquires ! was not impressed with the fact that the boat launch docks where leased or held private for a club to reserve for them and not the campers, after all this is a government place and the tax payers are paying for it , why is this allowed ??

Well maintained. Large spaces. Beautiful place. Lots of options for water activity. The only "negative" had nothing to do with the site or accommodations, but rather a few dog owners who let their dogs carry on way too much. Unfortunate. We will definitely be back. Do note there is almost NO Cell reception onsite. Need to walk way over to far dock to get 1x signal on Verizon towers. That did provide for a more relaxed and "quiet" stay away from the typical "intrusions"

We have been going to Tompkins for about 6 years now. Never have we seen such a mess of overflowing garbage, as on Friday when we arrived the dumpsters were overflowing, which is a health hazard with all of the wildlife around, and dogs that bark all day and night long. And the children, they have no supervision while swimming or riding their bicycles. I fear for their safety. How many dogs are allowed in one site? We saw one camper with 5 dogs. We also had an encounter with the Club People, who evidently own the dock on the lake, something about a 99 year lease, and give everyone a hard time if they not remove their boat from the water after a one time use. We have brought our boat their for years and never heard of this. We thought that campers could dock their boat as long as there was room, but we were wrong. We have reservations for Labor Day weekend and we are hoping that it will be a more positive experience. We were very disappointed in Tompkins, I hope that someone reads this and tries to correct the problems. Also please empty the dumpsters Friday morning, that would solve the overflowing problem.

We love the location, the views, the hosts. Clean well kept (lately) sites with plenty of room at most of them. The lack of cell service, which I understand is NOT the campgrounds problem, is a little bit of an annoyance, but we make it work. Lots of room to maybe add a dog park. Our 2 Brittany's do not like being on a leash or tied up so a little bit of off leash time would be awesome. We will continue to support this campground year after year.

The site that I reserved was a beautiful site, flat, nice new table, fire pit in good condition, located where I wanted to be. Unfortunately, the electric breaker was not functioning so we were guided to another site that was less than the original. It had everything it should have but it was old, well used and on an incline. We managed and had a good stay, just not what we anticipated.

Miss the check-in station and never did see a camp host.Been staying there since the opening on an off and miss the old ways. But I guess am to old for the way everything is by computer or phone app.

I stayed 7 nights in the Cove Loop and had a very good experience. Bathrooms and showers outdated but clean. Entire campground seems well kept and clean. Campground hosts seem attentive and readily available. Quite crowded on the weekend, but still fine, sparsely populated weekdays. Good for road cycling around the lake. Light traffic and wide shoulders, about a 14-mile loop. No cell phone coverage in the campground, but I did have cell phone coverage near the swimming area and boat launch, I had coverage every day, had to reboot phone a few times to get it, but other than that access to texts, internet, and calls. (Consumer cellular, AT & T sim card)
