The park is one of the best in the area for equestrians. I love riding in the Angelina National Forest. The pens were clean and in good condition. The water and electricity worked like they should. The space was clean. There were no problems with tent campers. There is nothing to complain about. It's a great place!

Clean and well kept area. Hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable. I even had a low tire and the host helped me by having an air compressor to use. Great place

Because the recreation.gov site doesn’t have photos of the campsites, when we arrived on Friday we discovered our tent site was in a steep incline directly on the water (in November) with a strong, cool breeze coming in from the lake. We found an empty and suitable location elsewhere, and the campground administrators came by about that time. They told us how to switch sites through the recreation.gov administrative phone number and we did so with ease. My only suggestion would be either pictures of the sites or a topographical map showing slope. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience! This is why we camp in November in Texas!

We were in site 12. You can see the lake from that site. Pens were clean when we got there. Trails are dry. Lots of overgrown trails. More erosion with exposed roots on some trails. Map of trails is available on Face Book at Ebenezer Trail Maps under photos. I have been camping and riding there for 15 years. Creek crossing are nice. I don't go over the "Black Hole" any longer. We did go eat breakfast at The Stump which is about 4 miles on the other side of the dam. Their food is good. I love their hamburger and onion rings and their grits in the morning is fabulous. Staying at Ebenezer is always fun.
