What Guests Are Saying
Paint Creek Campground offers beautiful sites, especially along the river, and a friendly, dedicated host, Bill, who enhances the overall experience. Campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, clean facilities, and local attractions, including hiking and swimming spots. While there are some minor drawbacks, such as the lack of a dump station and occasional issues with noise, the campground remains a favorite for many, ensuring a welcoming environment for both new and returning visitors.

Absolutely loves our stay. The camp host was friendly and kind. Campground including bathrooms were clean, quiet and gorgeous. All sites had plenty of shape and breathtaking views of the creek. Overall we felt very safe and will be back for another stay.

We camp for the quiet and serenity. There was a 5th wheel using a generator at the site next to us. We left after 1 night. The generator fumes were floating into our site next to them.

We love Paint Creek. But we don’t like the mess they left after cutting down trees. I talk to someone that is in the parks recreation he said they do clean up on off season. That’s funny that’s when they left the mess.

The quality of the camp ground has dropped since the garbage cans were removed and 2 dumpster were put in . The flys were terrible as we tried eating outside also warf rats were in the dumpster and one got ran over in the road near campsite #7 .

The creek is beautiful but the toilets' were a mess. The surrounding areas smelled terrible. I do not think the composting toilets' are betting treated correctly.

Wonderful campground. The sites are well kept and quite distant from each other (which was important to us due to COVID). Almost all of them are creekside and because of the sound of the river, it is an incredibly quiet campground. We had people on three sides of us and yet couldn't hear them at all. The Rich Mtn fire tower is just a few miles away (on a very cool gravel road that is worth running) and offers spectacular views. Also, the campground is in very nice proximity to Greeneville if you end up needing anything during your stay. Only critique at all is that the bathrooms smelled absolutely horrible (not sure if they just needed drained or whatever, but whoa). Also, we were there the four days prior to the campground being shut down due to bear activity - and we did see two bears and one came within 20 feet of me while I was washing dishes. Not scared of humans at all and so it was good to see the authorities take that seriously and do what was necessary to try to move the bears in order to keep them and the campers safe. Oh, one other thing - we were there to fish Paint Creek, but it is really a bit too small of a creek for very good fishing. A lovely place for visiting the waterfalls and swimming in the deeper holes, but maybe not the best for an extended day trip for trout! Overall, a wonderful experience and I will definitely plan to come again - I just might not build the trip around fishing.

Did not get to go cause you all couldnt fix my problem. I tried to book 2 nights and when I got through everything including my credit card it only gave me one night and charged me 18.00. I have been going to paint creek since I was a kid and NOW you make it where we have to schedule our camping trip. This has messed everything up plus now its 18,00 ...10 + a fee to use a site to book in a system that Doesn't work. You stole money from me and wonder how many more people has this happened to. Oh yes I called and it was a fee to get my money back, how stupid can you be . Well you can cancel, oh so you can collect another 18.00 from someone else. Hope this really really fails. You just dont know how disappointed alot of people are.
