What Guests Are Saying
Blue Heron Campground is well-maintained, peaceful, and offers clean facilities, making it a favorite for many visitors. The proximity to hiking trails, especially the Blue Heron Loop, adds to its appeal. While some campers noted noise from nearby children and the absence of a campground host, the overall atmosphere is friendly and the campground provides a great outdoor experience.

Loved everything about Blue Heron Campground, the Big South Fork River and Recreation Area, The Cumberland Plateau, the Civil War Museum, the Blue Heron Mine Museum, the bear, the Rangers, the drives through the countryside, Cumberland Falls, Yahoo Falls -- a terrific 10 days. Hope to return to the same campground and the same camp sites in years to come.

A lovely, quiet, and dark place to stay. There were just a few other campers here, so we were able to sit in the middle of the loop and look at the stars. Clean bathrooms and showers.

We had a very nice stay in this campground the week before Labor Day. It started filling up as we were leaving but there was only a handful of campers there during our stay. The bathrooms were the cleanest we have found in our travels. The only negative is that the water faucet could not be hooked up. But this was a minor inconvenience.

Mining exhibits were first rate including the old sorting mill, mine entrance and structures showing different aspects of life in a company mining town. Extremely well done . 5 stars
