I was in site 68. End of the row, no trees. The site was level so I didn't have to do any special leveling of my 32 foot motorhome.
This pull-through site had plenty of parking space to accomodate my RV the Jeep I tow. No wood fires allowed, though you could use propane and charcoal for cooking at your campsite.
Campground hosts were very welcoming, provided great information and suggestions on things to do based on my length of stay and available time. All the campsites were well maintained and promptly cleaned by the volunteer camphosts when guests departed. The sites are well spaced out. Many with trees providing shade. If you have a big / tall rig, be sure to check to make sure your rig will not be damaged by tree limbs because of choosing a shaded site.
Bathrooms were clean, and well maintained, though could use some updating. No showers - there are coin operated showers at the RGV Store. NOTE when I took a shower there I could not get hot water! I opted to just use my RV shower and had to fill my fresh water tank and dump my grey tank sooner than planned. A minor convenience considering...
Chisos Mountain area is one of the shining stars of this park - an oasis in the middle of the desert, with an ecosystem all its own. The Boquillas and Santa Elena canyon hikes were two other highlights of my visit.

Super friendly and helpful hosts. We stayed there for two nights and on 2nd night when a better site became available, the hosts offered to us to move to that site. Truly appreciate it. The area and the bathrooms were very clean. The sink for washing the dishes was also available and clean.
The store and shower was very handy and affordable. Interesting enough, the diesel fuel was cheaper than both nearest town outside of the park.

Rio Grand Village is great. Camp hosts run a tight ship which is good. Rules enforced make the experience good for everyone and keep the campground in good repair and nature as it should be. Great hikes for those wanting a strenuous but fabulous experience are Blue Creek, South Rim, and Marufo Vega. Scenic challenges well worth the effort.

Camp host from Florida threatened us with law enforcement for hanging a towel from tree for ten minutes to dry. I witnessed them going through someone else’s campsite for fifteen minutes while they were gone. I saw Mexican nationals riding horses back across the border drinking beer. I brought it up to them and they said it’s normal. The camp host who drive the red dually are on a power trip and need to go back to Florida. The overweight husband camp host was not happy when I said I was calling Ted Cruz “my Senator” about the illegal crossing’s. The Army needs to clean this up.

We loved tent camping at rio grande village. We saw lots of donkeys, horses, cows and javelinas. There’s a great 360 view and a walk to the rio grande from the campground on a nature trail. Personally I like showering while camping so I was very happy that the showers are close by at the camp store. You do need $2 in quarters for each shower and they sometimes take awhile to get hot.

Peaceful ( we were in the RV no generator section), clean, and well laid out. Great location near Nature Trail with Rio Grande views. Really nice.

Here’s the thing: I didn’t really use a lot of the facilities because I only had a 1 man backpack tent on a large RV site. The restroom was pretty clean

I love this campground. The hosts were very helpful and pleasant. And the bathrooms were very clean. My campsite was nestled in the trees and had protection from the wind and lots of privacy. I love the Nature Trail being right there for an easy walk to the top for spectacular sunrises and sunsets or an easy stroll to the Rio Grande River.

I specifically asked about riding sxs vehicles in park as most mileage in the park is dirt roads. Recieved email stating perfectly well to do that. Upon arrival was told cant do that. While police were there the mtce guy wanted me to move my trailer because it was over the grass, i was not parked on grass the trailer deck was over the grass. The place is kind of run down looking getting trees trimmed would help so your space was not utilized for their trees. Packed up the next AM and left. PS look on their website the link stating sxs are allowed has been replaced by language stating not allowed dated feb 18 25 just days after we left.
