Had a great time in our 6 day visit. The donkeys, horses, cows and javelinas wandering through the campgrounds and surrounding areas were not really an issue, other than their poo piles all over. Lots of highlights, including great hikes, sights to view and animals and birds to see. The only real downside was that I never slept through a full night (tent camping) due to car alarms going off various times throughout the night (probably from people arriving throughout the night and absent minding arming their cars without locking doors, then opening a door, or a nocturnal animal bumping it). About every other time, it set off a group of coyotes howling for five minutes or so. It would be helpful if a sign was posted entering the campground to please turn off car alarms overnight.

Camp hosts were wonderful. It was delightful seeing the donkeys, mules, roadrunners, and javelinas strolling through the campground. Our spot was level. Easy quick drive over to the hot springs for a soak and then swim in the river. Camp store is convenient and provisioned with essentials. The dump station and water fill was incredibly clean and well provisioned. I can see that this place can get HOT since we were here in early March, so take this into account for your own time frame. We stayed the night prior in Chisos Basin Campground. Much cooler for temps and the views were of a more in-your-face spectacular-ness. I can highly recommend doing both for a long weekend trip!

Pleasant experience. The Mexican Livestock were a bit of a problem. I realize that park staff have not the time to herd cattle. But I still wish something could be done. maybe cut an informal deal with the villagers, e.g. Keep the cattle out of the park and we won't bother the entrepreneurs selling tacos to the tourists basking in the hot springs

You need to put bollards, boulders, or some other obstruction in areas in the campground where you don't want people driving.

I had a great time at Big Bend NP. The staff, hosts and locals were very helpful. Being able to spend the day in Mexico was a surprise and a joy! Park price is in the sweet spot and I enjoyed the park.

No Cell serivce of course, but we were aware of that. Camp ground is beautifully maintained, easily navigable, and in a great location. PLENTIFUL wildlife, including the wild horses, cows, javelinas and mules walking around between campsites. Friendly staff and clean restrooms. Camp store was nice as well, with anything you forgot, as well as showers and laundry.

This is a pretty remote national park campground. The generator hours are limited so if you are staying here it may get quite warm during the day. We were here in early March at it was pretty warm. We enjoyed our couple of days here.
