What Guests Are Saying
Potters Creek Park is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, spacious sites and clean facilities, including highly praised bathrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the park's scenic views, making it a great spot for camping and exploring the Hill Country. While some areas of the park lack shade and the lake levels are low, overall experiences have been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

First time at the park in our 5th wheel. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the park.
Very close to Gruene and other towns with fun restaurants, shops and live music. Will DEFINITELY be returning.

Potters Creek Park at Canyon Lake about an hour north of San Antonio TX: Nicest COE park we’ve stayed in yet. Restrooms and showers were beautiful and clean!! Good pressure and hot water. Regular faucets! Sites were large and level. We were in site 50. No shade, other than a roof over the picnic table, on a lot of sites but we were here in February and looking for sunshine. About an hour to downtown San Antonio. I know I’ve said this before but the 9:00 gate curfew drives me crazy. Installing a gate with a code would easily solve that problem. Wanted to take in a rodeo as we were there during the Stock Show but knew we’d never make it back to camp in time. We camped in a Roadtrek Class B. Good Verizon cell service, nice staff, would definitely stay again!!!

The site was decent and the views of the lake were superb. Our complaint would be the gate hours were a bit draconian. One had to be back by 9pm our else you had to walk to campsite from the from gate. We got back late one night after doing laundry and had to carry everything to the camper
The bathrooms were not maintained well as the toilet paper kept disappearing. I had to stay carrying my own paper every time I went. Showers were good and the water was hot. I wish there had been more (any) hiking or biking trails. We had to go off site to hike. Good birding, though. Weather in this Texas area in January/February is unpredictable. Our first four days here were stuck in the camper during freak ice storm. We also had several days in the 70s.

The park itself was clean and upgraded. If the lake were full the camp site would have been terrific. The staff were polite and friendly. The issue we had was the 9:00PM curfew. We arranged to camp there because of the camp's proximity to Gruene Hall where we attended a concert. We were told that should we leave the park and not return until after 9:00PM we would have to park our truck outside the gate and walk to out campsite. Not only was the drive through part gated, but they also put a chain across the space where you could walk around the gate. So I would say the camp is not very handicapped friendly for anyone wanting to stay there and be out after 9:00PM or have visitors arrive late.

Park was very nice and camp site was very spacious. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The only reason that I won’t stay again is because the gates are locked at 9PM and there is no entrance or exit once the gate is closed. This park is close to quiet a few attractions that you could easily stay out much past 9PM. I appreciate the security but think there should be a key code entrance to allow visitors staying in the park to come and go as needed.

We arrived in an ice storm and the power was out but the staff informed us up front that it would be restored buy 6pm. The power came back on and we had hot showers in the morning. Staff were very nice and helpful, we got there 20 mins before checkin and they were accommodating and escorted us to our site to make sure it was vacated. Given the ice storm and related stress the staff were really great! The campground was beautiful and sites were well spaced, level and in god shape.
