What Guests Are Saying
Potters Creek Park is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, spacious sites and clean facilities, including highly praised bathrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the park's scenic views, making it a great spot for camping and exploring the Hill Country. While some areas of the park lack shade and the lake levels are low, overall experiences have been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

This park is great. I like it for the lake views, birding along the park roads, and because it is so wonderfully maintained. The staff at the gate are always super friendly and helpful. I am not a "water person" by nature, so I enjoy the quieter sites that don't border the lake directly. I always go to Overlook Park and hike across the dam when I visit Canyon Lake. Other things I like in the area are getting fried chicken and other groceries at Brookshire Brother's amazing grocery store, touring the Canyon Lake Gorge, grabbing a latte and beefy Cuban empanada at Kafecali bakery and coffee house, relaxing and drinking craft beer at Roughhouse Brewing Company near San Marcos, and eating hamburgers at Jay & Diane's Horseshoe Grill.

We loved the park. There are sites with trees, and without — it’s hard to change reserved sites when you get there, so be aware. Bathrooms were clean, a lovely sunset, sites were level. Quiet and beautiful.

Loved the campground once set up. First COE campground where they would not let anyone in prior to check in time even thou no one in our spot. Could not even walk in to look at the site. Web site states a different time versus what is posted at the gate. Going out and about they had to raise and open the gate each time to let you out. Like you had to get permission. Asked for a map of the campground was told to use my phone. Did not have or want to give me a paper copy for my book.

Beautiful location and had a great time paddling. Nice and quiet in the park at night and the stars were fantastic.

Campsites are spacious and near the water. Deer roam in the trees and coyotes howl at night. Loved it. Will go back.
