The location was great since the purpose of our trip was to visit some people in the area and have visitors. There was ample room to walk by the lake. My only complaints were the less than clean bathouse and obscenities sometimes shouted when the full time residents had arguments.

In nearly all ways, Bear Creek is superb. We love the large camp sites, the peace and quiet, and amenities, and the friendly staff. One sleeps feeling safe and comfortable.
We have stayed here 3 times. The showers are subpar, even though we've reported the problems. There are three showers. Of these, one has no lights, one has no hot water, and the door to one does not shut complete, thus preventing it from being able to be locked. One shower, the one designated for the disabled, has lights, hot water, and a working door/lock. However, it floods horribly, so that one if left with either wearing wet clothes out of the bathroom or stepping outside to put on one's clothes, hoping no one is around...
On one occasion, I observed a maintenance guy knocking on the women's bathroom and immediately, without waiting for an answer, barging in. I was not amused.
The grass gets rather long from time to time.
The staff who man the gatehouse are incredibly helpful!
Despite the shower woes, this is our go-to camping site. We love this space so much!

Loved the park with plenty of space between sites. Lady at registration was very nice!
Could use a little cleaning of sites, tree limbs etc everywhere but assume that will clear out once park is full in summer.
No entrance after 10pm was a concern because I was visiting family in town. Perhaps consider another way to enter gate area. Very minor issue just a thought.
Overall excellent early in the season. Will stay again! Hopefully it is open in November next time I pass through.
