What Guests Are Saying
Holiday, Texas offers a well-maintained campground with spacious sites and beautiful views of the lake, making it a great choice for nature lovers. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the abundance of wildlife, including deer and turkeys. While some facilities, like the bathrooms, could use updates and there are occasional maintenance issues, overall, guests enjoy their stays and often return for the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location near Fort Worth.

This campground was in a good location for our purposes and we enjoyed being outside of the busy Fort Worth traffic patterns. The campground itself needs some attention. There is a large area for seasonal / volunteers (I assume) that was not attractive and many of the campsites throughout the campground were out of service while most of the park needed some serious maintenance and upkeep. The gate guards were 50/50 - the man we dealt with was wonderful while the woman we encountered was not. We did not see much in the way of staff and there wasn't an established rule that we found being enforced. The hiking/equestrian trail was in terrible condition. We did appreciate that they offered an equestrian site and we enjoyed walking - lots of great walking! Site 58 was really large and private and we appreciated that very much! If we had been in a different site, our experience would have been much less pleasant. Altogether, it was a nice visit but we hate to see a campground with great potential not being realized.

In site 52, we had plenty of elbow room. We were in the shade and had a terrific view of the lake.
The campground is very large with a North and South campground. Each had multiple loops. Entrance to the campground is vis the south entrance. The north entrance is not open. We did not use the restroom or shower facilities but looking inside, they were bad. Real bad. These facilities are so outdated and in need of immediate repair. The bathroom does not have a sink or a door. You need to go to the shower (seperate entrance) for the sink.

The sites are large and well spaced. We wee in site #1 and it is pretty level. The bathrooms need serious work, and some of the roads need overhanging branches trimmed. All in all a nice park. Gate attendant was very friendly and helpful.

Campsite is close to stores, restaurants, etc but far enough away that you don't hear highway noise. The campsites are close together but give ample space for campers. Backing in was easy, our driveway was slanted slightly. Each site had a table under a covered structure. Sites had 30 and 50 amp hookups, a connection for 110 and water. Lots of kids running around and playing outside. Quiet at night.

Friendly staff. Sites are clean & have updated electrical connections. We left site to run an errand and when we came back it took around 15 minutes to get back in. It would be nice to have an entry for if your already checked in to avoid time delays.

Site number 63 was perfect for our visit of eight people. They have electricity plugs 120 V inside and two outside on the pedestal with a 30 amp and a 50 amp RV hook ups. They got a fairly long back in level RV pad no hot water inside the shelter perfect level places out in the yard for tent, camping as well the shower house across the road, which is the South shower house bathroom combination there is absolutely no hot water. It’s all cold water. They are not real clean. They could use some updates and most definitely not good for taking showers in the winter cold months unless you want to freeze while you’re showering. There was deer roaming around very quiet park.

I stayed here 14 days and had a couple of personal issues I had to take care of. The front check-in was really nice and accommodating. They helped me with my financial issue (I forgot I could use my America the Beautiful card for 1/2off so they refunded it to me) and physical challenges (my back went out the day I needed to move sites and they made a way for me to stay there another night so I could rest.) The sites are clean and very nice. I didn't use any facilities so I'm not sure what the buildings were like but I really enjoyed my stay!

We were in site 93. We had neighbors whose fire was so big that it was outside of the ring. It was very large and often not attended by them. We never saw a camp host. Also the bathrooms were awful and need to be repaired or upgraded. My wife was afraid to go in the bathroom and there was no sink to wash your hands. I couldn't believe it

The campground is convenient off the freeway. The sites are spacious and the rangers at the entry gate were very nice. The bathrooms and showers near the entry gate are horrible. Peeling paint, dirty and just not a place I was comfortable with using. The showers and bath house need either a serious remodel or just tear it down and start from scratch. We have stayed at COE’s across the country and have never seen showers in such disrepair. We will avoid this campground in the future.
