Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the abundance of wildlife, including deer and turkeys. It was a last minute decision to take my new camper out on its first trip. So I took what was available, #35. First the site was good except the ground has washed out and made it dangerous walking around. Then their were large "Ghost Trees" can be bad if a wind comes up, which it did ! Very strong ! And no shade. Other than some maintience it was good. New camper was better than expected.

Beautiful campsites located close to Benbrook Lake with great views. Many sites are among trees. Lots of space between sites. Holiday is a large park with some hiking trails. Plenty of space to walk or bike for miles. We do wish they would upgrade the sites to 50 amp and do maintenance on the bathouses and the dump station though.

Staff was helpful but rude. Restrooms needed to be cleaned and updated. Gates don’t just close at 10 pm, they are locked and you may not enter the park. If you want to get to your campsite after 10, you must walk.

reserved space #58 pull thru. pull thru is more of a horse shoe than any of the other pull I have ever been in. finally got in the space and then there wasn't any space for me to disconnect from my truck. left that site and called recreation.gov and was told there was spaces up on the hill with 50 amp electric so I went up there to check them out, got backed in and got to looking for water hookup, NO WATER hook up. water had been capped off. Gave up and came home. Told people at the gate what happened and they said they were sorry. called recreation.gov back and ask for a refund but haven't gotten any response so I guess I made a donation this trip. first time I have ever had any problems at Holiday Texas and I have been camping there for at least 15 years.
