What Guests Are Saying
San Augustine Park is praised for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a peaceful getaway for campers. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained facilities, including the restrooms and showers, as well as the scenic views of Sam Rayburn Lake. Some areas for improvement include the need for additional electrical upgrades and more frequent grass maintenance, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

San Augustine Park needs alot of upgrades. Many of the tables do not have covers anymore, the dirt is washing out from under the concrete pads, and many of the electrical boxes need replacing. My family has been visiting this park for over 30 years and it has slowly declined. There are too many tenants living in this park to not have better maintenance, and they are very nosey and cause unease. A very sad situation because this part of the lake is relaxing and quiet.

This was our 3rd visit to this park. And we will visit again, even when the campground is full it's pretty quiet with most campers respectful. Fishing access is good and can catch a wide variety from the bank. Sites have water and 30a electric, nice restrooms and showers which are cleaned daily and a good access dump station.

Excellent place to go to! Campgrounds were nice and everything was well kept. Great area to visit. The only thing is that gas and groceries are limited nearby, so keep that in mind. There’s a Brookshires Express about 15-20 min away, but it won’t have everything. For the campsite itself, the only improvement I would recommend is to the bathrooms. They’re a little worn and outdated, but did serve its purpose. But would highly recommend going here.

The campsite was great. Bathroom was clean. Trails are almost nonexistent and the only trail that I'm aware of appeared to be not maintained. However, being a fisherman's park, trails are probably not high on the priority list (just my assumption). The playground was nice but had no benches so there was nowhere to sit while watching the kiddos. The sunsets here are amazing! Our stay was during cool weather; I doubt that we would go here during the heat of summer because the campsite only has 30 amp service. Therefore we would not be able to run two air conditioners.

Park is showing a little wear and tear. Signs falling down and in need of repairs. Really nice park. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

RV sites are very uneven and makes it hard to level your RV. Need 50 amp plugs for sure

Although a very old park, we truly enjoy staying here. Our spots were right on the water and the lake and weather were beautiful!
