What Guests Are Saying
San Augustine Park is praised for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a peaceful getaway for campers. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained facilities, including the restrooms and showers, as well as the scenic views of Sam Rayburn Lake. Some areas for improvement include the need for additional electrical upgrades and more frequent grass maintenance, but overall, guests express a strong desire to return.

This was our first time here. The park was quiet and fairly nice. The web site would not let us book the first 3 sites we wanted to stay in. Not sure if it was due to electric issues or dead leaning trees but some maintenance issues are apparent around the park.
We are easy going, enjoy walking and riding our bicycles so we really enjoyed staying here.
The lake is beautiful and we are planning another stay soon.

Very friendly staff. Beautiful campground. I just wish there was some heat in the restroom.

I had asked if courtesy dock was still in. Answer was yes, when I got there, it was several feet, out of water. Better to answer correctly, I realize lake is low, due to work on dam. When you have physical restrictions, dock is important.
Sites pads are still out of level and in poor condition.

We stayed one night. Park looked clean and well kept. Lake water level was very low, but that didn’t keep the fishermen out. Would definitely stay again.

Campsite was full of FLIES. Horrible!
Why does the Corps close all the loops in the fall and winter and force everyone camping to be in the same area?
Maybe that is one reason for the flies?
