Great Park and campsite. We took off the day before Thanksgiving heading west from Alabama. The only plan we had was to make it to Texas. When we explored COE campsites in Waco, this seemed to be a good choice. It was. We spent two nights.
Anytime you can get a site at a COE campsite, it is well worth the trouble. But the day after Thanksgiving, this was no trouble. If I ever head that way again, this is on the list.
Next time I will take my time to enjoy the camp more than Waco. Both are great places. We enjoyed our time there.

When we arived it was obvious that the park personnel did not make sure the site was clean. The folks who were there before us had left a big rubber boot and some kids shoes. We had to clear the site ourselves.

Midway is a great place to stay in Waco. It's located on beautiful Lake Waco. The sites are spacious, and most are shaded. It is conveniently located near restaurants, stores, and attractions. We will definitely stay there anytime we are in the Waco area.

Bathroom was very clean, and the grounds were tidy. There are a lot of deferred maintenance items, like picnic table coverage structures, that are missing, so bring your own canopy.

Wish there had been more to do in the nearby area. I drove downtown to Magnolia Market and the Mammoth monument. The botanical gardens were closed.
The site was level, shaded and relatively close to the bath house.
