Locking the gate without giving campers an access code to enter after 10 is really outdated. My husband and I are in our 60s but still like to go out and see entertainment in the evenings while we travel and were unable to so that due to the gate situation. Also if we were to have an emergency and needed to go to a pharmacy or urgent carenwe also would be unable to get back in. Many parks have gates just out in an access code box.

Great site with lots of wonderful trees and trails. The picnic table and fire pits were so nice at every campsite. Very friendly and helpful Camp Hosts. Heated restrooms wit plentiful hot water in the showers. Close to shopping and grocery stores. The Woolly Mammoth Museum ($5.00) was so interesting and very close to Midway. The Mayborn Museum and Dr. Pepper Plant are also close and very interesting. One of the nicest and pretty Camp Grounds I have been in.

Overall the distance to Waco was great and the park was generally clean. However if I have a reason to return I will absolutely be calling several hours ahead of arrival to be sure that the staff actually check to make sure the previous camper has checked out. We arrived at 3:30 PM to find that there was still a camper in our site. I went back brought it to the attention of the staff and the only solution given was to sit on the side of the road and wait for that person to come back to the campground to move their camper. No other site it was available. Not what you wanna do after a long drive. It was pretty frustrating.

We only stayed the night on our way to another park. Midway was very nice, clean and quiet. Pad site was excellent and we had full hookups.

I loved this campsite! This is the only site where I couldn’t leave it better than when I found it. Everything about midway was really well done. This group takes care of their site and it shows. My campsite was very very clean and they even raked the gravel around the table/camp area. I took my 5 year old on a birthday camping trip and he’ll definitely be back to midway.
