About Green River Campground

The Green River Campground is located along the banks of the Green River at an elevation of 4,750 feet (1448 m). The highly eroded Split Mountain is visible to the north. The campground is about five miles (8 km) from the famous Quarry Exhibit Hall, where you can see 149 million year old dinosaur bones still encased in the rock. A short distance from the campground is the Split Mountain Boat Ramp where river rafters come off the Green River after trips through Dinosaur National Monument's canyons.

I was very satisfied with my camping experience. My reservation was set in place & exact. The campground was quite & serene. The men’s restroom was clean & in working order. I found it to be a very pleasant experience for myself.

I already wrote a review but wanted to mention one thing. Loops A and B are reservable. The nice thing is they do not carry an extra fee for booking. There is no cell service at the campground, but a short drive back to the Dinosaur Visitor Center has coverage.

Great location! Right by the Green River with many mature cottonwood trees for shade. Flush toilets and water available. We would stay again.
Watch out for ground squirrels if eating outside. One came up to our table and took a piece of bacon right off one of our plates. Very speedy!

Pretty nice camp sites with lots of shade, not the most private but not bad. Clean bathrooms with running water are nearby, but not too close. Firewood is available from a self serve station with cash or venmo for $7/bundle. The river hike starts from the campground and was a pleasant surprise. The fossil wall at the visitor center is amazing!

Great location, wonderful view, nice campground. Would come back. My only comment is the spaces are tight so if you have a larger unit, be aware.

This is the place for star searching — incredible dark sky during new moons. Quiet campground, clean facilities. Lovely place.
