This campground is located in a largely shaded area along the river. It has some larger sites and ample space to set up tents and enclosures. Campers are not right on top of adjacent sites. The valley setting is the most attractive part of the experience here, especially at sunset when the sun shines on the opposite side of the valley in a golden glow. There is access to the river from the campground.

Nice campground with beautiful views of the river and rock outcrops around Dinosaur NM. My husband and I camped there with our 2 person tent, and we appreciated the big cottonwood trees and shade. Many of the sites were large, and felt private. We tried finding sites away from RV's that have running generators. Bathrooms have running water and flush toilets, which is very nice. The river runs right by the campsite, and the campground is essentially on a point bar, so its not an ideal location if there is heavy rainfall or if river floods. The critters can be a nuisance, and the campground hosts will scold you if you do not put absolutely everything away (clean dishes must be put away in your car).

It was one of our favourite campgrounds during our 5 week road trip through Colorado and Utah. We love quiet and dark and we got that here. Our site was big and far enough from neighbours.
There were flush toilets and they were clean.
