What Guests Are Saying
The Mt. Timpanogos campground offers stunning views and excellent proximity to hiking trails, making it a picturesque spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Camp host Sarah received high praise for her helpfulness and friendliness, contributing to a positive camping experience. While some amenities like bathrooms and privacy could be improved, many visitors enjoyed their time despite minor inconveniences such as noise from nearby partygoers and traffic.

This is a very beautiful campground. Very family friendly. But absolutely no privacy. Not a quiet site in the entire campground. It is so close to the main road, you hear non-stop traffic. There is a group site down the road and we listened to a wedding party the night away. Not my idea of relaxing.

Up road from Sundance.
Site 5: 2 spots for small tents. One spot is on a slight slant and may slide during night.
Bathrooms downhill, have flushing toilets. Water available for cleaning hands or dishes but not for drinking. Lots of shade.
Deer Creek Reservoir 15 mins away. Nice place to swim.

Clean restroom, easy to find campground, phones work at this location, fair connection, the only negative is that is not next to the water (my son likes fishing)

We enjoyed the campsite. Ample room for our two tents. Large picnic table and plenty of parking for two cars.
We LOVED the flushing toilets and were conveniently right by them. There was road noise from the Alpine Loop since the campsite was very near the road. Also, there seemed to be a large party at the Theater in the Pines on the first night and my kids said they was music and hollering until 3 AM. I thought it was unfortunate that they were allowed to be so loud out in a natural space and disrupt everyone else who was there for peace and quiet.

So we are not from the area but we wanted to enjoy our first hike to Mt. Timpanogos. We entered into the campground and no one was there to instruct us of any campground rules during our first night. We didn’t know who the campground manager was or if there was even someone that we could ask basic campground questions to.
We had reserved the campsite for 2 days and the following day we left for Mt.Timpanogos. As we completed the hike, we arrived at around 9PM. We decided to celebrate the completion of our summit so we went out to eat. When we arrived back at around 10:30PM, we noticed that the gate was closed. When I went out to go check the main gate some crazy lady started screaming out of an RV (I later found out that she was the manager). I had no idea that she was the manager because when we first entered the property, WE SAW AN OLDER LADY CHAIN-SMOKING IN FRONT OF THE ENTRANCE, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS ILLEGAL TO DO WITHIN 25 FEET OF A CAMPGROUND ENTRANCE IN THE STATE OF UTAH. I assumed that this lady would’ve followed the rules but I guess not. So this lady starts screaming out of her RV and I go on to ask her if she knew if someone would be able to let us in the gate. She told me that it was past 10PM. I apologized for being late, however, no one told me of a gate curfew. She then flipped out and told me that she was going to call the sheriff. I was surprised because before her outburst, I calmly told her that I had no idea that there was a gate curfew as no one made me aware of this. The best part is that when I finally told her that we just simply wanted to gather our belongings and that we would be fast and leave, she went on to tell us that she “WAS ALREADY IN HER TRAILER AND THAT SHE DIDN’T WANT TO PUT HER CLOTHES ON TO OPEN THE GATE”.
Regardless of whether this is a policy or not, Mt. Timpanogos campground needs to work on hiring management that will notify campers of the rules. Small signs posted with a million other signs just won’t cut it.

Loved the camp site. Bathrooms were pretty close which was good in the middle of the night. Loved that the trail was within walking distance. Also great that we could have a campfire. Camping without a campfire is not camping lol.
