What Guests Are Saying
The campground at Spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon offers beautiful scenery, friendly staff, and well-maintained sites, making it a popular choice for campers. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, great hiking options, and clean facilities, despite some complaints about the restroom situation and water availability. While there have been issues with locked bathrooms and high traffic on weekends, overall experiences highlight the campground's charm and natural beauty.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we’ve been to. Very clean, plenty of space, quiet, beautiful, green, flushing toilets, and faucets with running water. And so close to home! We also liked being able to have fires. They even cut up some of the dead trees so you could easily use it for firewood. We will keep coming back!

Good campground close to town. Maintenance has deteriorated over last three years. Bathrooms have leaking faucets, campsites often have more campers than allowed especially on weekends, vehicles park off paved pad, campsites not cleaned when campers leave, and group site 66 has had port-a-potties for the last three years.

We love staying at Spruces and fishing at Silver Lake. Our 6 year old granddaughter caught 8 fish! We released them all.

Spruces is always beautiful and well-kept. The new Yurts are so fun, and it was more furnished than I was expecting with two mattresses (very comfy), little tables with lights, a chair, and rugs. It was very roomy and comfortable!

Great campsite with adequate room for 2 tents. Pull-through parking accommodated 2 cars. Loved the small stream which delighted the little ones but was small enough to be safe.

Great campground with heavily wooded, private sites. You do hear road noise during the day, but everything is quiet at night. We had site 83, very private with picnic table area elevated with 3-5 steps from the parking area. Easily fit our 27' motorhome and easy to level. Even came with a moose which joined us for breakfast in the morning! Great location for access hiking trails in the area.

Very beautiful place. An excellent weather in summer. Amazing fresh air. Beautiful wildlife.
But restrooms were dirty, some faucets don't work. The hosts do not care about enforcing quiet hours rules. We had reservation for two nights, but we left after first night because non stop noise from vehicles at Big Cottonwood Canyon Road and drunk campers, working generators did not let us to sleep and take a rest.

I loved it here. The location was very comfortable and beautiful. It was far enough from others that it wasn't loud and felt more private. The quiet hours seemed enforced. The restrooms were pretty good as well.
