Stayed on spot 5 in the chipmunk loop (best spot there is) and it was wonderful the weather was perfect. It was the busiest I’d ever seen but i guess the month October with the Virginia Creeper trail is a popular time. Highly recommend!!!

This was my first time to the campground and it was really fantastic. The campsites are shaded and have good brush coverage between them so you don't so you don't see your neighbors. We had a clear stony creek next to our campsite which provided perfect ambient noise for sleeping. There are several bathhouses which means that you don't have to walk far - and you aren't sharing with the whole campground. The hot water in the bathhouse was a good temperature and was quick to the tap. I will certainly be back to this campground.

Beartree was a great place to stay. Very well kept and clean. Most of the sites have plenty of privacy. We really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

The campground was extremely quiet and kept very nicely. We stayed in Chipmunk site 10, and it was lovely. Overall, a very nice experience, and I would highly recommend a stay at Beartree. Steve, the site host, was really friendly and outgoing, providing advice and giving us directions to places we wanted to see. The campground is very convenient for riding the Virginia Creeper Trail - we did, and it was awesome! Beautiful weather, very peaceful riding. We found some excellent restaurants in nearby Abingdon. The only thing that keeps this review from being 5 stars was the lack of hot water in the women's bathhouses. Only 2 out of 3 were open; the one closest to our site had no hot water at all, and the other had only lukewarm. I ended up showering in the men's side, where I was able to have a nice hot shower, with a lookout posted to ensure that there were no issues. I'd still recommend Beartree Campground to anyone visiting the area, and I would gladly stay there for another ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail!

Great campground very private. Only complaint not enough road signage and could use more bathrooms.

Beautiful setting. Sites are private so you can really enjoy being in nature. Meant for tent or small trailers due to no power or other hook-ups but it does have a dump station. We found quite a few sites that would fit our 30 ft motorhome. Very close to lots of trails and things to see. We will definitely go back again.

Our original pick of a site didn't fit our RV but the campground host helped us find another and did the swap for us with know problem. That help was very appreciated.

Wonderful campground, but a couple of the bath houses were closed, and had to wait for a toilet and shower a couple of times. Otherwise awesome place. I’ll be back.
