Only the central bathroom was open, but it was kept clean and wasn’t too busy. There is no firewood for sale so bring some with you, or come prepared to forage.

The facilities were acceptable. Some were closed. Shower water was intermittently warm. Group sites were adequately spaced for privacy and noise reduction. The rangers were really good folks. Party of 5, 3 nights for a site cost of $35 pp. Would stay again.

I loved the campsite 62, but the bathrooms weren’t open and the picnic table was a jumble of rotting wood. I will be back after checking the water situation, and choosing another site with a usable table.

My family has been camping at Beatree many times over a 10-year period and love the area and the campground. We like the large sites and how secluded they are. We missed camping there in 2022 but were able to return this year. We noticed the sites and facilities were not kept up as nice in the past. The bath houses are starting to get run down and were not very clean. We had two dead trees at our site which could be a huge hazard during high winds. The tent pads were not kept up and the foliage has overtaken many of the sites making them smaller. During our stay over the Labor Day weekend the water went out at the tent sites in the two main loops and we had to drive 2 miles to the one working bathroom for two days. During this time the facility was not cleaned properly for all the traffic it was getting. The restroom facilities at the lake were also out of service and the doors boarded up. We love camping there and hope that these items can be improved in the future.

We love BearTree! All the sites are private and wooded and close enough to the bathrooms. The hosts are friendly and helpful. It's a climb from Damascus and tends to be 5-10° cooler. We will be returning again next year.

Very nice sites and the check in host was very nice and informative about questions we had about the vegetation.

The camp host was great. Since the campground was nearly empty it was so quiet. I love the wooded sites. The campground bathrooms were old and need updating but functional. It was a short drive to Damascus to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail.

The campsite wasn’t as big as the description stated. We only had 14 people and 6 tents and a hammock. We were all crammed together and when it rained, the rain stayed in the campsite instead of draining which is ok. The outhouses were dirty and not properly ventilated with no power. The shower house was a good 6 minute walk away. The parking was unorganized and definitely couldn’t fit 4 cars per sit.
