We camped at a spacious, flat, and rock-free tent site. We had room for our two tents, camping chairs, vehicle, etc. The campsite was almost perfectly shaded with some light coming through. The campground was fairly quiet and the bathrooms and showers were nearby, clean, and the water was warm. There were bear hooks but no bear boxes. There was potable water everywhere which was great but we didn’t see any dishwashing stations. The little lake with the salamanders was really cute but not really a full-day activity, which is fine because there is so much to do in the area. It was both a blessing and a curse to not have any cell signal, but pretty normal for NPS campgrounds. On the whole this little area was one of our favorite places we’ve camped and we will be back.

Great campground. Sites are spaced out pretty decent. I love the creek that flows through the center of the campground. Plus there is a nice pond. The only thing I would add would be a swing set for kids

The last week of October is a great time to visit. The campground is beautiful in the fall and campers are courteous. A great place to use as base to hike the many near by trails.

We had a wonderful stay at the rustic tenting sites. We’re so thankful to still be able to find these and hope they don’t go away! So many places are converting all of their tenting space into places for camper hook ups.
We stayed in an area that was quiet (only one camper with a generator and they were kind enough to shut it off after about 7:30/8pm). There were 5 other tenting families around us with little kids that ran all over the place and having much fun… watching them play was wonderful entertainment! The bathrooms were basic, but clean and serviceable. The site hosts were welcoming and informative about the area’s hiking trails. We hiked Wildcat Trail and it’s well maintained and a decently strenuous hike. We would go back to both camp and hike in a heartbeat!

Site 30 was perfect! Right next to a creek and it held two large tents with plenty of room to spare. Going to the lake in the Fall was beautiful! Everyone was friendly. Bathroom and showers were the best I been to so far. (First year Camping) Will go back in a heartbeat! Looking forward to the spring already!
